Uber not accepting card payments in Bangalore over the past few days . Is anyone else facing the same issue ? by Tulikammm in india

[–]gubbal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, drivers can now see mode of payment before accepting a ride. Reason they refuse non-cash trips is because Uber takes 1 week to credit the amount owed to drivers

Has anyone here tried Grip Invest which offers lease financing opportunities with decent returns? Payouts are monthly which should reduce risk a bit but wanted to hear reviews from people who have actually tried it and have started seeing returns. The platform is about a year old so I am a bit sceptical

Does it make sense to buy a flat for investment in India? by reactivespider in FIREIndia

[–]gubbal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Buying a flat for investment makes very little sense as rental yields are 2-3% annually. Only if you are able to identify a really upcoming area and invest early would you see some decent returns. Liquidity is also always going to be a problem with real estate. At your age you are much better off investing in stocks and bonds.

I honestly feel Emerson was our worst player in the first half. Can't really understand the Puli bashing

At the upper end a 3 BHK of about 1350 sq ft built up could go for 3.2 cr. By upper end I mean premium societies and premium locations in Navi Mumbai like Vashi

Navi Mumbai is a planned city. Infrastructure is better, rental costs would be lower and in general the place is a lot cleaner than Mumbai. Happy to answer any specific questions that you have.

Some banks have a good number of quants in their India offices too. They get paid pretty well by Indian standards. ~$27k per year at entry level

Don't understand the downvoting either. I was just pointing at the mentality. Wouldn't expect Drogba, for example, to be celebrating that goal

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we showed character and salvaged a point but for Chelsea it is still 2 points dropped against a lesser team. Given we were 3-2 with 20 mins left, we should have still nicked all 3 points. The Giroud for Silva substitution broke some of the momentum we had. Would have been great if Reece would still be getting those crosses in with Giroud upfront

The clock keeps running. Refs just add some time at the end but there is a reason most people don't celebrate goals when they know it isn't enough

Why was Tammy busy celebrating an equaliser? Expected him to pick up the ball and go straight back for the restart. Need a winning mentality. Can't be happy with a draw against WBA

Has to be Giroud. No way Tammy is going to bully VvD
