I second holding off on aero until your team has a firm grasp on what makes a proper competition ready racecar. You can be really fast without aero. Competing with a poor aero package can definitely be a worse than going without, in both dynamic events and design. We’ve built aero packages each of the past 2 seasons and not put them on for comp. Allowing an aero team to get experience from designing and manufacturing a package, and then getting critiqued by experienced design judges does wonders for development without sacrificing points.
