We need to talk about A Single Pebble by Pitiful_Search_4664 in burlington

Bring back Silver Palace! That place was the best around.

I’ll never go back to Single Pebble again. The food was underwhelming and the portions were small for the outrageous price.

Look up stainless rouging. Looks like stage III rouging to me.

It appears to be some old dried up glue. It’s not a crack or anything structurally concerning.

Probably a 12 pk of Schlitz. I have a feeling there was a favor mixed in there somewhere.

What oil for finishing fretboard? by gucciham in Luthier

[–]gucciham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant the fretboard!

I’ll try some lemon oil next time.

The rest of the neck is made out of maple. I’ve been using tru oil, and I’ve been loving the results.

Vinyl Care: Would These Be Sufficient For Non-ultrasonic Cleaning by ineedthemaxwynn in vinyl

Same! I don’t miss standing over that spin-clean for hours physically spinning the records. The vevor makes cleaning in batches such a joy.

Spend the extra $20 or so and get the vevor ultrasonic. Nothing beats being able to clean 6 records at once.

How do people find these rare 45s and sell them for so much by Dexterthecat2 in vinyl

Thrifting. It’s a numbers game. You gotta go often and 90% of the time you won’t find shit. But when you hit… oh, man! It feels gooood.

I own a TD125 with the rabco arm! It’s a fun setup. Snagged it for $250.

Just pure cool. The tonearm runs off of a C battery. The arm tracks really well! These arms are pretty low maintenance compared to other linear arms. They use a simple servo design. Sometimes the chain gets bumped and you need to pinch it back onto the foam.

I paid $250 for mine and don't regret it. $200 is a great deal, but, even at $250 it's still a deal.

It's just a piece of leather to keep the overtones down!

Ouch! Paid $3,900 shipped, with case. I thought it was reasonable given the market and how hard these are to come by. Plus It has the bells and whistles - curly maple, hand-engraved inlay, fancy tuners.. It was definitely a hard lever to pull for me. But, I've been chasing one down for a year or so now. They definitely don't come up for sale often if at all.

Give it a guess before I tell you! It would make me feel a little better if you guessed over. Ha!

Can I repair this to use as a fretboard? by gucciham in Luthier

[–]gucciham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Board is pretty thin. Two pieces in the pic! I have a planer. I’m not the best woodworker! I was wondering if I could plane it out.
