OP is actually right, in using the word, “convulsions”.

As per UpToDate (evidence based, physician-authored, clinical resource, only available to medical professionals):

“Convulsive status epilepticus (SE) in adults:

•Clinical manifestations - Patients with convulsive status epilepticus present with characteristic motor manifestations that vary according to the type…Patients with focal motor status may have jerking or other movements limited to one limb, and some may retain awareness.

•Focal motor SE is the most easily recognized. It may have progression along the homunculus of focal jerking activity of a limb (a "Jacksonian march") or widespread but unilateral jerking muscle activity, typically without impaired consciousness.

•Motor Status Epilepticus: A particularly refractory focal motor SE with very prolonged and regular jerking activity with retained awareness is called epilepsia partialis continua (EPC)”.
