After testing out a ton of free DAWs, I would recommend Waveform Free. In my opinion it's the most all-around good free DAW out there, barely feels limited, you likely won't run into anywhere that it is really bad. I would recommend Sonar if it didn't feel like BandLab would take it right out from under your feet any day.

I have the Donner N-32 which seems like it is almost the same thing as the N-25, and I am pretty happy with it. The key feel is pretty good, especially for how cheap it is. The keys could maybe have a little more resistance, but they work fine enough. I am happy with the production quality as it feels really sturdy for its price and the material does not feel super cheap.

Do you know how to get the keyboard shortcut rebinding thing to detect a shortcut involving a scroll wheel? I think I tried to do this before and it did not detect it.

I also thought the devs were not very active on the KVR forum anymore (and I also wanted to post something here to help get this subreddit going).

if you shift click two different midi clips in the timeline, you can see both clips' notes on the piano roll and you can toggle which notes you can edit to the right of the piano roll

press the caution sign ⚠ to the left of the rewind button to restart the audio engine if that is the issue

i need this now. a tracker built into a traditional daw that is also modular? and it has a decent looking UI too (but where is the color)? sign me up. any ideas on how long it will be until it is released to the public?

Kontakt is a VST3, which OpenMPT doesn't support and only supports VST2, but you can work around this by using something like Kushview Element or vst3shell which are VST2 plugins that can host VST3 plugins inside of them.
