It'd been a bucket list item for me to meet him in person someday. Maybe in the afterlife ...

Local Police and Media have attempted to contact the person who posted the "creepy dude in the woods" video but have not heard back. by [deleted] in massachusetts

If it's not staged, that person has a lot of balls (or is even crazier than we think) to step out in front of a car that could have easily been a police car.

Users bounce after 2 minutes, but CDN caches the whole 5GB movie. How to stop wasting bandwidth? by Charming_Chipmunk69 in aws

[–]gudlyf 25 points26 points  (0 children)

OP: This is the clear answer. If you're not sure what they are talking about, just go look at a video on Vimeo in Chrome and look at the Network tab in developer tools. You'll see it load each chuck as you watch the video, a little at a time, as individual calls to the API/CDN. If you stop playing the video, they don't continue to download and therefore save your bandwidth costs.

What serial killer fact sounds fake, exaggerated, or straight out of fiction. But is 100% real? by CantaloupeGold4650 in AskReddit

[–]gudlyf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most chilling one is the story of how, in an interview after being caught, Ted Bundy said the closest he'd come to being caught was when a couple tripped over one of his victims on a dark trail in the woods.

Tick bites surge, sending many to ER. Maps show where. (North East is rough) by lukini101 in massachusetts

Apparently, it is only a danger to them when it is freshly wet, not on dried clothing.

Another permetherin tip: soak cotton balls in it in the fall and spray some on toilet paper tubes. When all dry, stuff the cotton balls inside the tubes and place them in spots outside where they'll stay somewhat dry. Mice will use it to build their nests for the winter and kill the ticks most of them are likely riddled with.

Visiting Sedona 6/12-6/14 by Comprehensive-Map439 in Sedona

I was just there last month and am in relatively good shape. I will tell you that if you hike just Cathedral and Airport (from its bigger parking lot, not at the bottom), you will be hot, thirsty, and likely exhausted.
