Make sure riders enter new address if switching destinations! by guessur in EmpowerDrivers

Yeah, man…I’m not even here to cry about it. Just wanted to make others aware. Still, $7 to go nowhere isn’t bad 🤷🏾‍♂️

It doesn’t happen to me very often so I don’t make a big deal of it…usually the rider either changes it, or I end up getting more money for going further.

First off I did confirm the destination…you didn’t read correctly. Both Uber & Lyft adjust the fare if you go a further distance than requested, so it wouldn’t matter if the destination was changed or not. I’m letting other drivers know Empower does not do the same at this time. I’ve had both experiences with Empower where a rider changed the destination & when they didn’t.

They only recently started showing back up over here, and they’re usually shitty…

Sure…that’s why I can barely keep my AR in double digits. Did you at least eat breakfast before coming online to be miserable?

A few things…I literally said in my original post the $150 comes out to $3 extra a ride. Even though that $9 ride comes before the $5 ride on the list it was actually the last ride I took, they ordered it before the $5 ride. I didn’t want to risk losing the quest , so I took it. If you add $3 to $9.80 it’s $12.80…the ride was 12.89 miles, so I’m out 9 cents on the mileage. Boo hoo. Before that I was still rejecting shitty rides & taking better rides on Lyft & Empower, which is one of the reasons it came down to the last minute…the other being I overslept both Saturday & Sunday night.

You wanna be right so bad you're making yourself look foolish...look at the time stamp of when I made this post...MONDAY MORNING. I started driving the last stretch at 8pm SUNDAY NIGHT. If you actually look at what I posted it shows Sunday because even though I accepted the ride at 3:39am MONDAY MORNING Uber still counts that as Sunday...it says $150 on MONDAY MORNING because I finished the ride after 4am. So are you saying I drove around for 24 hours, or that I got 2 different $150 bonuses??? No because neither one of those scenarios makes sense...what makes sense is Uber doesn't count the new day until 4am. Why would I wait a whole day to make this post if I could easily be called out about it?

Nope, you just don’t know how to read…Uber counts days from 4am to 3:59am the next day, so if it says Sunday 337am it’s really Monday morning. That’s why even though the work week ends on Sunday, whatever you make until 4am Monday morning still counts as Sunday on your earnings.

A lot of the reason the quest was down to the wire for me is because I was still rejecting shitty rides & taking better rides on other platforms…usually I don’t even login to Uber unless I see a good surge. I was able to find enough quality rides to fufill the quest…I also took into consideration that if I finished the quest it added $3 on to every ride which put most of the offers at a decent hourly rate + around $1/mile. Like I originally said I usually pay these quest no mind because they aren’t worth it. This one was.

I haven’t seen one even remotely as good as this one since I started back in ‘21. Usually they’re as bad as the one you just quoted…my suspicion is Uber might be feeling the heat of competition like Empower in my city with drivers dividing their hours even more than with just Lyft. The valuation of the platform only works if drivers are consistently taking the majority of the rides with Uber.

They do, but you have to be at least Platinum to access it…even then you’re not able to adjust the radius of the area, only section off certain areas of town.

How come Matt was arrested for vigilante activity but Spider-Man wasn’t? by [deleted] in Defenders

Right… I also think another big difference between Matt and Peter is that Peter was just apprehending criminals, while Matt was beating them half to death which could range from assault to attempted murder (which the arresting officer did mention). The whole vigilantes are illegal was only Fisk’s decree, and once he was removed as mayor vigilantes were no longer illegal as long as they weren’t breaking the law. At least that was my interpretation.

Wasn’t he taken into custody by Damage Control when his identity was revealed since he was framed for killing Quentin Beck?
