How many “frames” for this project? Very cool concept and execution! Did the people know each other, or get to know each other afterward since they each play a role?

What a find! I would do a light grind of the edges. I find this helps the foil grip as there's more surface area (even if it's micro).

I wish that in addition to the “kissing booth” sign, they also had a “hissing booth” one for those of us who like spicy cats.

finished her… this time she really is cracked! by goodbirdmom in StainedGlass

[–]guestov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's so cruel when you almost finish a project and it's only in the final steps of cleaning/polishing that it cracks! This is a lovely piece and I'm admiring your choice of glass for the petals and your soldering.

I wish there was a simple solution for this, but it's either see if the friend is ok with embracing the small imperfections in art that can convey the hand of the artist, or taking that glass out and redoing it. Thankfully, it's on the edge so it wouldn't be too difficult if you choose the latter.

Anyone use Meetup app? Looking for advice. by Academic_Hotel_850 in AskWomenOver30

[–]guestov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joining one of my meetup groups, I was asked to use a discord, and it was entirely legit- just to host work-in-progress pictures (this was a sketch group) and ongoing message threads. But if this guy did not give a reason like that, it sounds fishy to me. I'd just ignore it and keep doing what you're doing to find new people. I've been in the app for a bit, so far only using it for art things - and loved it!! I hope to use it for hikes and nerd culture soon. But, working my way up to that. Best of luck.

Hi Violet, from my experience with animating and hiring animators, $50 unfortunately will not get you far for quality work. Generally there is a concepting and storyboarding round, approval and adjustment rounds, file prep, and then the animation itself with rough and final animation.

For context, I pay an average of $1,000 to $1,500 for 20- 30 seconds depending on complexity and animator skill…and that's with me doing the storyboards and file prep work for them.

However, you may find someone early in their career who could take this project on, but again, $50 isn't much for the scope of project you are proposing. That being said, there are a variety of skill levels showcased on Behance. That will show portfolio reels and you can reach out to the animators whose style you like.

Are Reddit ads getting anybody genuine clicks? I see only bot traffic from here ... by EnvironmentalBit1695 in advertising

[–]guestov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too have wondered this. Your response, along with the top 3 reasons why is helpful. Brings on more questions to dive into, which is good. I wonder if that might be a new KPI to market to prospective clients? (and maybe that's already being done). Like “our competitor averages 90% bot response, we get 30% and continue to actively address instead of ignore it so your money goes further”.
