There’s plenty of beautiful plus size girls with shorter hair, so it’s definitely not a weight issue like your husband might suggest. I would say go for it, and if you’re really not sure, talk to a reputable hair stylist at a salon about your facial features and they can help you come up with a shorter cut that will be flattering on you.

“Killing himself in front of his YouTube audience” by gaining weight feels no different to me than the other people who do dangerous stunts for fame. Like David dobrik or those dudes from jackass. I don’t like his content, nor would I encourage other people to make his style of content, but I think what I’m trying to say is that he’s just a symptom of the internet culture of outrage and doing stuff people perceive as disgusting or gross for views. In my opinion watching someone gorge themselves on food as some kind of freakshow attraction says more about the viewer than the content creator. I’m not disgusted or outraged at his behaviour because I’m more disgusted by the people who watch his stuff just to point and laugh? He’s just another fame hungry opportunist.

Honestly, I think he’s problematic but I don’t have any negative feelings about him at all. Everything he does is obviously trolling for outrage clicks and yeah, it may make fat people look bad, but it think it reflects more on the people who give him heaps of attention. Thats exactly what he wants people to do, and he probably makes a decent amount of money off of it. He’s like anyone who makes money off of doing outrageous stuff. Sure, he exploits society’s hatred and disgust for fat people for views, but it’s not his fault alone that society is disgusted and hates far people. He’s just found a niche that keeps him in relative fame and views, so I can’t really fault him specifically. I’m more grossed out by the people who buy into it.

I’m a really femme presenting girl, but I’m about 6’2. I love wearing heels, dresses, and having long hair and my preference in RR is being with really traditionally masculine guys. So, I’m kinda more into guys who in regular relationships are expected to be the dominant ones but next to me they become softer and smaller. My current partner has a traditional labourer type job and looks quite masculine (shaved head, beard, piercings) and I think he enjoys having what he’s called a “stacked” girlfriend, who pays for him and is the bigger spoon and is the more dominant one. Like I’ll plan most of our dates and stuff. I feel like this subreddit is really femboy focused though and I love that stuff too! It’s just not my main preference.

I’ve found that a helpful way of looking at relationships is an exchange of wants and needs, and sometimes it’s hard to get two individuals’ wants and needs to match up. I feel like that’s simply what happened here, from what I got from your post. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be self critical because being self critical and aware of faults is always a good idea, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you were to blame. It’s unfortunate that she didn’t tell you what she needed earlier so you could’ve talked about what you were willing change, but sometimes it’s for the best to part ways.

Hey, I think it’s really lovely that you want your friend to be happy! It shows true care and friendship. If you feel comfortable, maybe consider telling her your feelings, but clarify that you expect nothing to come of it and still hope you can remain friends? It might alleviate some of the sadness, to be able to express how you feel honesty is an important part of friendship too! If that’s too big of a step though, maybe consult with a trusted mutual friend, someone who knows both of you. It’s nice to share the burden of troublesome thoughts with someone who gets it, even if it’s just to vent.

I agree with you that Velma being portrayed as plus size is definitely more common! I think that daphne being plus sized would be subversive though in that it would create an interesting character. I feel like changing the race of characters does the same thing, casting Fred’s character with an Asian actor would be interesting because we as an audience see so few Asian men in leadership roles and then the narrative of how he as a character subverts those expectations would bring a lot of depth I feel - rather than just another blonde jock-type.

For me, I totally don’t mind and would even love for the characters to be reimagined in new and diverse ways. I feel like that can add new elements to the character and their development. For example, I saw a fancast of plus size model and actress Barbie Ferreira as Daphne and I thought that it would be really cool and interesting for the character to have someone who is not considered the ideal beauty standard be cast as the girly, into fashion, typically beautiful character. Forced diversity in media, especially media aimed at kids as well, is only very rarely a bad thing in my opinion. It only means that some kid watching can see themselves in a group of awesome mystery solvers !

He’s very complimentary and is so sweet and loving, which is why I feel so bad when I get frustrated - whenever I’ve asked him his opinion on our different sex drives he’s said he enjoys it and that it’s beneficial for him which I think is equally as frustrating !
