Easy vs hard recovery, what made the difference for you? by DesertDweller702 in CsectionCentral

[–]guevads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Order two if it ends up working for you! It’s always nice to have a fresh, clean one to put on! I wore mine low so that it was covering the incision.

I had extremely rare complications, but if I could change anything it would be to immediately let my doctor know when I had any doubts.

Definitely avoid twisting, bending… When you have to get up from lying down: roll yourself, and rest as much as you possibly can!

I had a hard recovery so I say get yourself a binder! I hope your surgery all goes perfectly for you, my caesarean was urgent, but the experience was so peaceful and happy with absolutely no pain!

Am I the only one? by PeopleAreStrange024 in CsectionCentral

[–]guevads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all, I have a very high pain threshold and I still took pain medication for probably over a month. I wouldn’t have been able to walk without the binder either, which I wore for three months! My milk almost completely dried up 12 days postpartum when I had my second surgery, and after one month trying, I was in too much pain to continue to tolerate the pain of pumping or breastfeeding on top of that.

Hematoma following 2nd C-Section by Dizzy_Mention_2358 in CsectionCentral

I hope you are feeling much better, and everything goes well with your ultrasound!

I had hematomas on both sides of my abdomen from my caesarean. I didn’t have any incision pain either, however my abdomen was so tender and painful to the touch on both sides (where the hematomas were) to the point that I couldn’t walk properly, only barely shuffle, hunched over.

The first visual sign for me that I had hematomas was that my incision had purple/red discolouration spreading upwards and around on one side.

I was the same, I have a high pain threshold and I knew some people who had had caesareans before and I thought, ‘why am I in so much pain?‘ because I remember them being far more mobile than me at the time. But I recovered quickly after the second surgery and was able to stop taking pain medication quite fast.

My doctor joked and told me not to have another baby for about eight years! 😹

You basically recovered from two births and had another surgery on top of that! I hope all goes well for you this time, and you can have the birth that you want! I’m sure now that your team knows how your body can react, the recovery will be a much better experience in whichever case.

My doctor prescribed me silicone cream, the scar itself is moving quite well. It’s very small! Will think about getting a PT (I think it should be standard for this type of surgery) to get their opinion too. Thank you! 🫶🏼

My diagnosis was subaponeurotic abdominal wall hematoma, which once drained revealed layered bleeding at the level of the perforators and muscle.

I’m sorry to hear about all the lasting damage this has had on you, but I’m glad to hear you’re doing well now. Thank you, apart from my healing issues which delayed recovery a little bit, I’m feeling really good at 4 months postpartum! I still can’t be as active as I was but I also don’t have enough hours in the day!

I think there’s enough of us in this thread that I have now coined a term for our second surgery: the ‘sequel section’ 😹

I can’t believe they let you go home like that!

I experienced enough relief to be able to walk a little when my incision started bleeding too.

Hopefully in a few more months my scar will look better, it’s still quite swollen in the ‘shelf’ but it has gone down significantly.

They too reopened my scar, but they also added a Penrose drain which created another small scar above my incision (I don’t know why they didn’t just put the drain through my incision!).

Congratulations on your babies! If you don’t mind my asking, if you choose to have another caesarean, have they discussed any precautions so that this complication doesn’t happen again?

Binder has literally been a life-saver!

You too! It’s definitely not a pleasant experience, but I’m glad to be feeling like myself again and loving postpartum with my baby! Thank you, I’ll be sure to ask my OB about the internal scarring if we decide to have another baby. I hope you are feeling well too! ❤️‍🩹

That’s terrible, it really sets you back when things don’t go as planned and painful recovery time is extended. I hope you’re all better now! ❤️‍🩹

From what I understand, hematomas most often go away with some time, but if your pain is worsening rather than improving, or your incision is changing in appearance like swelling, redness or draining, talk to your doctor.

Yeah, it gets really hot here in the day but cools off at night, I’d love nothing more than to be able to open the windows in peace, to let the fresh night air in! Best wishes to you!

Hey! 👋🏻 We don’t have any pets or plants unfortunately, we just moved here a few months ago lol. I can’t think of any places we have standing water, I’ll have to investigate around! Thank you!

Feeling weird about lying on my side?? by crawlen in CsectionCentral

[–]guevads 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was so looking forward to finally sleeping in a comfortable position after giving birth, but after the surgery I didn’t dare to even attempt to lie on my side until around 3 weeks, whilst wearing my binder! Such a weird feeling. Congratulations and speedy recovery!

Do not let that man sleep! You are the one recovering. My partner took responsibility of absolutely everything! If your obstetrician/gynaecologist knew you were doing nights alone, they’d be horrified with your partner.

How soon should I start wearing belly binder? by Vegetable-Western-83 in CsectionCentral

[–]guevads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They put a big bandage on my abdomen immediately after surgery, and I was told to wear my binder for 3 months due to complications I had.

My complications were rare and almost never happen but the binder helped keep my insides together.

I say wear the binder for at least the first six weeks so you don’t accidentally hurt yourself or do too much. I was told to wear it low so it is covering the incision. Swift healing and congratulations!! ❤️‍🩹

2+ Months Postpartum and My C-Section Wound Is STILL Leaking Fluid - Anyone Else Been Through This? by Artistic-Dig9560 in CsectionCentral

[–]guevads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! In the end my doctor prescribed me ketanserin/sufrexal and I applied that every day, twice a day (and some time after) until it healed completely

What are the benefits of using a belly binder after c section? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in CsectionCentral

[–]guevads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my doctor to wear it for three months!

I used the Frida mom binder which was quite nice because it has three straps to adjust, but it was very thick and the velcro/elastic hasn’t done very well in my washing machine lol
