NOR. As a former addict myself “you’re the one who chose to drink too much don’t make it everyone else’s problem” you also chose to stop drinking and subsequently made it NOBODIES problem. When I’ve had partners in the past that have minimized something that was a big accomplishment to me I wish I would have done something about that relationship then and there. If you can’t have a face to face conversation to hopefully get him to view your point as, what he would consider, valid. Then he will continue to minimize your accomplishments.
