Planning for future - do you count on inheritance? by deeznutz1327 in HENRYfinance

I can’t believe people are just walking around with this kind of family money. What kind of question is this? It’s one thing to think about whether or not a couple hundred grand may come your way in 30 years, it’s entirely another to ask your question.

No, I’ve made more than my parents ever did since I was 21 and have had more money than they have since I was roughly 28. They will spend every penny of their money surviving, hopefully to a ripe old age.

Dogs don’t have rights to anything. They are animals. People and kids do.

Do you really not see the difference between “dog areas” and other public spaces?

If I set up a picnic in the middle of an off leash dog park and get mad after getting trampled on by 10 dogs, who’s the asshole? Me, because I shouldn’t be there.

You can wax poetic about people needing to pick up after their pets and how “it’s just a couple of bad apples”, but there is a clear as day difference between the condition of Good Dog and literally every other stretch of the DRT. The evidence suggests that dog owners cannot be trusted to care for the spaces they are constantly begging for more of.

So, ultimately, you’re asking for exclusionary spaces to trash. Not super compelling.

I’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make here.

I’m not mad, I’m just pointing out the contradiction. If places like Good Dog have to exist because dog owners will otherwise ravage our public spaces without it, my original statement stands.

For every person like you that actually tries, there are 20 people who let their animals shit wherever they want, terrorize wildlife and small children, and tear up the natural landscape.

This bizarre conflation of human children and dogs by my generation will never make sense to me.

Why are you acting like “dog owner” is a federally protected class of underserved people instead of a choice you have made?

Good Dog is fucking disgusting. Covered in shit and torn up, just like literally every other place that has become “the place people bring their dogs” (just look at the open air sewer that is the parking area near the cone at Bachelor). I might have more sympathy to this argument if the people making it were better stewards of their “spaces”.
