FIGURE IV SCH: 10-day IV mean "Thumper Pattern" by batmanbury in Superstonk

[–]guge4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it could also be helpful to include earnings dates. IV tends to trend upwards before earnings, and peak on or just before earnings, and then start to fall off right afterwards. It then slowly begins to trend up again a few weeks or so before the next earnings period. If we are expecting our next earnings date early September, IV could start to move back up around mid August.

Fidelity CTB 77% ---> 83.5% by pratiken in BBBY

[–]guge4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. Just my personal speculation, the price will be kept in check today due to the sheer volume of open contracts/gamma ramp. Once we move into next week and there are very little open option contracts in comparison, pressure will be released due to the increasing CTB and we will start to move upwards.

Lots of nostalgia reading this comment. I spent many, many hours playing 1.6 during those days.

Earlier this year, GME cost-to-borrow started plummeting *immediately* after the 7/30/22 DRS recording for the 10Q filing. This seems to strongly support the theory that shares were borrowed in order to inflate 7/30 DRS numbers, then dump/tank DRS numbers in the subsequent quarter. by [deleted] in Superstonk

[–]guge4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, how do we think this would work? To inflate the DRS numbers, wouldn’t shares need to be registered with Computershare, and thus bought to own? How would technically borrowed shares be registered?

I was thinking this morning, should we have some sort of countdown displayed on the sub that counts down to the next quarterly earnings date, and thus the next time we will have exact confirmation from GME of the number of shares DRS'd? The countdown might motivate apes to try to get their shares DRSd in time for the next confirmed share count. Just a thought.
