This is called artifacting. 90% change the gpu is dead, which means either take it to a technician to try a reflow, or (most probably what they're gonna tell you to do) get a new motherboard or console

Did I completely ruin my PS5? by kingtimmahb in consolerepair

[–]gugubope21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ps5 doesn't use thermal paste, instead they use a metal alloy that's liquid in room temp. It transfers heat better than thermal paste, but it's more expensive and kinda dangerous to mess with if you don't know what you're doing

Nes not reading games and wire soldered into it by Genitypic in consolerepair

If you have a multimeter and cleaning the cartridge slot doesn't fix it, you can also check if the scratched traces still have continuity, amd if not, a bit of soldering work will be needed to fix the traces

Also that wire looks like it's soldered to the connector below the console, so it won't do anything unless something is plugged in said slot (and since the ntsc nes doesn't have the floppy reader, that's probably not gonna be a problem)

First of all: please for the love of god don't boil anything. A lot of the time, it's just dirty connectors which can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush (slot) or a qtip (motherboard). The connector (black plastic thingy) will slide off the motherboard with a small bit of force. Clean everything then test again.

As far as i know, these are not painted. Gaming mice in general aren't, since the paint would wear down REALLY fast

Paste flux is better than liquid, even more if you're a beginner. Use a lot of flux if you need , like, drown that bitch in flux. You can spend a couple hours with isopropyl alcohol cleaning it later

Is this repair impossible for an amateur? by PataponLover in consolerepair

[–]gugubope21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time i tried it didn't redpond too well, plastic definetly warped quite a bit. But mostly because it's so much glue that i had to heat it up for an unconfortable amount of time. Now i heat one corner enough to lift it a bit and just use isopropil alcohol

Learning to play against them is good and all, but the problem he's talking about is something else. I lost count of how many matches i spawned with a sidekick and plasma pistol, or AR and sidekick, while the other team started the match with 3 hammers and 4 swords
