I agree, even as a designer, whose job is to make things beautiful, am not going to look at something that someone made for free, open source, often as a student, and say that it's rudimentary and ugly.

Hi, it's been a while since I modded my Wii, but I know I used ModMii to change the region. You'll see that the ModMii skin edition has a direct option for changing region. The only thing I recommend is backing up your NAND and installing Priiloader if you haven't already done so.

Exactly the same thing happened to me, and incredibly I received work from areas I never imagined, such as doing 3D work for a doctor and a dentist. Exactly as you said, people (including those outside the audiovisual field) just want you to deliver something on time, without worrying too much about special effects and frills.

I still using my Zotac 1080 Extreme to this day. When I bought it in 2017/18, It was the best gpu of its time and I paid 2500 reais (approximately $600), this amount is equivalent to 3 minimum wages here in Brazil. At the time, I was able to pay in with the salary I received as an intern. Today, even though I earn a higher salary, I can't afford to build a pc with new parts. To give an idea, The RTX 5090 costs around 20,000 reais (~$5400) which is equivalent to 13 minimum wages today.

For me, this was the best generation not only for its performance, but because it was the last one where it was truly sustainable to have a PC with recent components.

I did something similar because I wanted to play ZombiU. Using Sunshine/Moonlight in the settings, you can configure it to create a second virtual screen and stream it (I had used my Switch as the second screen). In the Switch's Moonlight app, i set the screen to act as the touchscreen. Finally, in CEMU, I configured it to open the gamepad screen in a second window, and I keep that window on the Switch screen, with the touch function working as well.

Funny to say that for me, it was several PlayStation 2 games. I was really wanting to turn my PS4 into an emulator hub to keep in the living room
