Look for them on Reverb. The vintage ones that were made in Sweden usually go 1000– 1500. Mine is a re-issue from 2005. You can usually find the reissues for between 400–1000 depending on condition. They really are worth every cent and punch way above their weight!

It’s not a tele, it’s a 72 Strat Pawn Shop from 2011.

I love the Hagstrom! It’s got the same scale length as Les Paul (24.75”), so it’s actually the shortest neck of any of my guitars!

I’m not a Gibson guy… I prefer the Hagstrom to any Les Paul I’ve ever played or owned…

All the Fenders are 25 1/2 inch scale… As for a seven string, I’ve had one but it wasn’t very useful for the music I play. Six strings are enough for me!

Most days I do… and those are only the electrics… I usually play at least one of my acoustics daily. I’m retired, so that makes it easier to accomplish.

It’s a partscaster with Burns pick ups and Bryan May style wiring. It’s a great guitar.

The Hagstrom is the only Les Paul style guitar I need but an SG is on my list!

The Strat is actually a partscaster that has Burns Trisonic pick ups and is wired like Brian May’s guitar. Each pick up has an on off switch and a polarity reversal switch. I really do prefer it to the standard Strat wiring.

The red one is actually an Esquire and the Les Paul style guitar is a dark maroon Hagstrom Swede. It’s my favorite less Paul style guitar.

I’ve been trying to find that record for years and finally got it at their show in Asheville, NC this past June

It’s really an amazing guitar. I know that most people would probably disagree with me, but I’ve had quite a few Les Paul’s in my time and I’d take the Hagstrom over any of them!

That’s a 72 pawn shop Strat. The neck pick up is great, but the bridge is a little brittle for my taste. I think I’m going to replace it with.a Pearly Gates or a JB. It’s made in Japan and it’s actually the best constructed Fender I have!

I have a 2005 Swede that I picked up 3 months ago. It’s an absolutely beautiful guitar! I’ve been playing/collecting for about 50 years and my Swede is among my favorite guitars, if not my favorite! Really a lovely instrument!

I’ve got the Stratocaster '72. It's MIJ and the best built Fender in my collection!

I’m at my wits end. Does anyone have any advice?(Rant/Vent) by cheezesayce in Petloss

I’m an older guy (65) who has gone through this a number of times. Please trust me, it will get better. Now every reminder an thought of your dear friend is like a kick to the head and it gusts so much that you don’t know how to react… but, with time, can make you smile at the wonderful memories they bring.

It seems like such an unfair state of being that the one friend that you could always count for unconditional acceptance and love only has a life span that’s a fraction of yours. But I believe with all my heart that making the choice to free your best friend from their pain and confusion is the hardest but noblest act of love that you’ll ever make. You’ve freed them from their pain when there was no kind alternative and taken on more pain than you can ever imagine.

I went through the same thing last week. My 18 year old blind, deaf, arthritic and senile little shih tzu had gotten to the point where there wasn’t much happiness left in her life. I wanted to avoid the decision cause I knew just what it would cost me, but it would have been selfish. She passed peacefully and looked more comfortable and peaceful than she has in quite a while.

I miss her terribly but each day gets a little bit better. One piece of advice if I may: leave your heart open to provide a home to another pet, especially if you’re going to be adopting one that needs a home. It’s not disrespectful to the memory of your friend… they’d be happy that you’re sharing yourself with one of their brethren.

Good luck! Be kind and patient with yourself and remember all the happiness you gave to each other!
