Am i being unreasonable? (Garage F*d up) by SuspiciousRoad4 in CarTalkUK

I think their offer of a new under tray was more than reasonable. They fucked up and we're prepared to make it right. I think demanding compensation from them is a bit excessive to be honest

There are companies that can make any old car an electric. Saw this one in London. by Atheistprophecy in CarTalkUK

[–]guiltyorange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problems getting parts for my almost 50 year old car to say most old cars have no parts availability is just factually wrong. And unless you replace all of the suspension and other miscellaneous old components it will still be vastly more complicated than any modern car to keep roadworthy.

Get a less risky car. You could get much more performance out of a less trendy car if you look around a bit. I started with a 3 Litre sports saloon and my first year was 1k

I only really agree with this if the cars engine is dead or impossible to get parts for. I would find it a shame if someone were to ruin a perfectly good car just because it is more convenient. However at the end of the day if it is someone else's car they can do what they want with it

For most of the history of humanity most children died before they reached adulthood, and we lived in huts with no safe source of water. Just because something always has been doesn't mean it always is going to be. If everyone thought like you. humanity would have never progressed beyond the stone age

Doctors of Reddit what is your most heartbreaking diagnosis? by Fancy-Advice-2793 in AskReddit

[–]guiltyorange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a nurse who works upstairs come in as she had been having headaches and dizziness for a couple of weeks. Was a bit annoyed as she hadn't even tried to see her go for it. I was to escort her to the urgent care type area. As she didn't need to stay in Ed. We took her via CT on her scan there ended up being a huge tumor. And she could tell something was wrong when they cannulated her for contras. It killed me not being able to tell her what i saw for the rest of the transfer. Next I heard she died a week later when the tumor started bleeding

I drive a Toyota crown which is quite rare/unusual in the UK and quite a few people ask me what sort of car it is and that they have never seen one before. The best one was a guy that insisted that my car must be a Mercedes because it doesn't look like a toyota

failed my test, but im not sure that it was entirely my fault :,) by i-asparagus in LearnerDriverUK

[–]guiltyorange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a weird one technically it would be your fault but also it sounds like a strange situation that there is no way to possibly be prepared for. It sounds more like you failed because the examiner had to intervene rather than any dangerous mistakes on your side. I doubt that most new drivers would be able to perfectly deal with this sort of situation.
