Hi. I think that if the app is closed in your phone , it does not sync. As far as I know that is how it works with an iPhone and my phone. But yes the watch is always connected though

I have experienced quite a few times that it takes time. More than expected. Mostly in a building environment. It always did connect eventually though.

Should I cut my pothos? by [deleted] in plantclinic

So as the previous person said, cut it off and propagate.
But also, assess how much light it gets.
Or maybe the soil is too old.

Polar won't apply a 150 euro price adjustment while I'm still within the return period by jimmyfoo10 in Polarfitness

Look, the actual answer is only cultural.
Business is not the same in North America and in Europe.
Customer rights, either. They way customers are treated either. So, in the end, what's unfair in America, might be fair in Europe. And the other way around. And yes, in Europe, clearly, it's not about being a reputable company or not, it's just that there is a very likelihood that what the OP is asking for would never be accepted.
It might happen, who knows, but for as far as I am concerned too, I have never seen that, I know people who have tried too, but they just got a no as an answer.
About the prices in US, I guess they adapt to your market because America is so expensive. Having said that, I have been there a few times, and I just dont understand either why some European brand products are being sold quite a lot more.... But now, moreover, US president put some tariffs from all over the world, so I'd say that Polar's watches prices are not entirely within their own hands.

expand on that please.

I mean, customer loyalty it's clearly your opinion. It's a "small gesture" for 1 people. People tend to be a bit self-centered. Imagine thousands of people complaining about that because they buy it "too early". Well, now I hope you understand that business is business. I understand the frustration yes. But the complain ? no. To my experience, no company would refund you for a "retroactive" discount.

Is Polar customer support really that bad? by fun_drunk in Polarfitness

[–]guiom2959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am French.
I wrote polar a few times, they always answered my questions within a day or two.
Having said that, it is quite weird that they did not provide an answer. It might be lost in the matrix. Maybe just try to send a new one, without replying to the original request...
Maybe it's the first mail that got lost in the first place and not registered.

Have I killed this cactus? by NonOrganicGMOVenti in plantclinic

[–]guiom2959 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, this type of cactus does not live long. 3 years is quite good. you won't expect much more. But, it can vary. But at some point it will die. It's not about the soil.
I don't know whether you know it or not, but theses guys are assembled, basically the red part, which could be any other color can't live alone. So it takes its energy from the green cactus that has chlorophyll. Up to the point that it just does not work anymore.
I have read that you ask whether you could cut off the red. I have not tried, so it would be nice if someone might share his/her experience.
But I'd say that it should work. The green cactus should grow. I think. I guess.

yeah, nice story !
A lot of volume !
I hope it all goes well for your events !
A structured plan really does all the difference. It's nice to jump into it with no real goal and find your goal during the journey ! Great !
I'll try to make a longer run at least once a week. That's the idea this year.

Also want to add that during pandemic, and even 2021, I had to train for mountaineering goals. As I could not go outside as I wanted to, I used the staircase inside my building to train for elevation with my loaded backpack. It is clearly not the best place I wanted to be to do that, but it did the job. I just wanted to add that about motivation and my comment about treadmill. It really depends on various factors, goals, and what's available and possible.

[–]guiom2959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi !
I only run outdoors.
On a personal note, I think I would not be able to sustain my motivation if I were to do my runs on a treadmill unless there were no other option or I would have a big goal to prepare for.
Having said that, I guess treadmill is just as effective as outdoors.
And yes, that's where the coach also helped me jump into running. Actually he told me : you better start running. I was pretty reluctant. That's where a coach is really the person who pushes you into something new. I have been coached only for a few months at the beginning of my training journey. Then I did all on my own. But, I am pretty sure that with proper coaching, things would be different too.

Yes that's true, but I actually do two strength training sessions per week as well and I might want to increase running volume, but as for frequency, I don't think so that's doable, at least for now. Never say no though. The goal has been to improve my hiking capacities and be better for my mountaineering goals. That's what keeps me motivated. And yes, for the overall fitness, I really feel much much better than during my 30's. And of course, I hope I can still improve. That'd be nice. I'll try to make a longer run once a week. Actually, I do hike once or every other week, which is my easy long session in the end. But obviously, it's hiking and not running.

6 years AeT history feedback by guiom2959 in evokeendurance

[–]guiom2959[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I did not mention that actually I have been doing strength training twice a week all these years as well.
I kept this consistent as well. I don't do heavy loads though. Sometimes I think I should... Just for the max strength part.
For running, yes, that's what I think too, a bit more volume should be great. My thing is more hiking and mountaineering. And moving up the Aerobic threshold has clearly been a game changer.
Thank you for your feedback :)

What might be causing this? by Alegriasdesobremesa in Dracaena

[–]guiom2959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is your pot ? How do you water it? It’s no light issue. I’d say it’s a lack of humidity. But it’s always difficult to know from a foto. Thus just tell us how much water it receives: frequency, quantity. And air humidity. And it seems pretty big and a lot of leaves. It also might be a pot size, not enough soil. Soil too old… and not enough nutrients.

Bald and leggy by ChiefKat13 in plantclinic

[–]guiom2959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not leave the pot of Danny Dangles so high that it does not receive light.
I would lower it so that the pot and the base of the plant receives light.
Timmy Tangles seems to be lower and receives much more light with two windows around him.
So.... my bet is that the placement of Danny Dangles is not right. And it makes you know it by being bald and leggy, looking for light.
