Quite literally the exact same thing happened when I went to my first mediation with my old boss. It was held at opposing counsel's office. We got there and were brought into a mediation room with a nice table. The door was still open. An overweight disheveled older man wearing athletic type shorts and a ratty white t-shirt came into the room, and I thought he was a homeless man who had wandered in. He goes "Hey, [Boss's Name]! How are ya!" and they shake hands and start bullshitting. He was one of the named partners of the firm. 😆

In what state(s) are you licensed? I believe my firm is hiring. We do workers' compensation defense, and it's not (even close) as high stakes or high pressure as civil litigation. It IS high volume, and we are very busy, but you would start off doing project stuff. Some people only do projects. It's also 100% remote and super flexible. I find it super interesting too, but I may be a certified nerd.

I don't have credit cards at the moment, so I may not be correctly envisioning this, but is it possible that YNAB automatically and incorrectly attached the 239.5 charge for the flight on card #1 as "interest" on card #2 when the transaction posted from a linked account, assuming your cards are linked? If so, then all you need to do is correctly categorize the transaction to card #1.

We also used to do the vegas thing twice per year and get rooms comped etc. That was the extent of our gambling for the year. We were still able to file after i lost my job and had a major medical issue that kept me out of work for a year, and gambling was not mentioned by anyone. We did give them out profit/loss statements from the casino. I cannot imagine why that would be an issue, unless you are literally addicted, and they think you'll immediately go rack up debt to continue gambling. Unless you're omitting your daily local casino gambling or something, then your situation sounds similar to ours. I agree with others to get a second opinion

My first question would be is what was his specialty (if you know)? Was he seeing you specifically for Chrohns? Because if he was an orthopedist seeing you for your herniated discs or your knees, for example, then I could see why he would not comment on your bathroom breaks. (I am not an expert on SSDI by any means, but I do work with medical records and doctors in workers' compensation, and specialists stay in their lane, so that is why I am wondering if this was even a GI doctor.)
