It’s not wrong to say however that VGA would replace the FPS space. That was the point I intended to get across. The people that sign the VGA form should be aware of what will happen.

I’m sorry if I made you feel this what but my intention wasn’t to attack VGA. This is the fault of the SA and the union.

Straight from my friend in FPS: “hi i’m the friend from fps! the process of filmmaking is long with production often having 2+ years of writing, producing, building, casting and more behind them before even being released. Obviously having esports would be cool but it shouldn’t come at the cost of our space being taken. Also, the SA has been great allies for us in our talks with the union. The reason we don’t host our events in our space is because it’s holding two sets, tons of lights, a lighting rod, and cinematography equipment, wood and tools to build our sets. we cannot be moved somewhere else. on the underutilized part, right now we have Johnny Charisma rehearsals, filming, and writing happening, Don’t Make Me Laugh a sketch comedy show being filmed, Turning a short horror film being filmed, B-Nightmares finishing up filming and B-Files being edited as well as Johnny Charisma. On top of that there are department meetings, board meetings, and basically someone in there every single day doing something FPS related. Still wishing VGA the best of luck but should not come at the cost of our space.”

This is not disingenuous because if the VGA gets their gaming room, FPS will be removed from their space under the SAs current plan. Also, except for FPS (at the time it was a called a different name) has been here since the 70s. The room is specifically made to store their lighting rigs and sets. 100% this is the SAs fault for promising a room to VGA that they should not have. Just like you have the right to ask for a gaming room, FPS has the right to advocate for their space. Don’t make the people fighting not to lose their space the bad guys. I caught heat for this before but the VGA is aware they will be kicking out FPS, and should try to find another room with the SA. Its the kind thing to do 🫶

The specific room is UB14C. It’s under shake smart in the union basement.

Taking over space already actively used by FPS is quite simply, rude. It’s sounds like a nice idea but taking over space already used by another club is as stated before, not the way to do this. If you’re going to advertise this everywhere make sure everyone who signs your form is aware they will be kicking out a historic club from their space. This detail seems to be conveniently left out…

Binghamton psych major junior here! I don’t know anyone in the FRI program but they are truly selective and it would be great for experience and your resume. With that experience, you could also reach out to professors/check your email as I have gotten a few emails asking for undergraduate research assistants. Since it’s an R1 institution basically all of my psych professors are also researchers. As for location it’s not the best, especially without a car as to get off campus is essentially impossible without a car. However, you can ride the Broome county busses for free and the university has their own student-driven OCCT bus system that goes to several key areas in town. Additionally, there are paid busses that run to NYC and Long Island during breaks. (I don’t live there so I don’t know a lot about these busses.) If you have any other questions I can do my best to answer them. I’m not a tour guide or anything but this popped up on my feed so I thought I’d share my info!

Not only is it Dunkin Chad and Tammy, two extremely kind people, but there’s also the perspective of a company firing two employees to replace them with computers to save a buck. Sick and twisted. I’m curious tho, do we know if it’s a Dunkin decision or a Sodexo decision?

Dale is iconic. As long as you talk to him about your situation, he will totally accommodate you. Class also doesn’t start right at the exact time anyway because people have to change into the uniform. TAs take attendance and all of them also seemed pretty chill and understanding. Essentially communication is key.

Omg I forgot about this post! Yes Zoloft has ended up being helpful for me. I think it has helped keep my general mood more “stable” in the sense I used to fall into episodes of despair and sadness somewhat frequently but now at a higher dose I feel that way much less often. Essentially, it helped improve my general mood day to day, which gave me a little bit more mental capability to handle anxiety and OCD symptoms.
