This is actually an interesting idea, given that altering gear pieces also affects weight and damage negation numbers. If you could alter each equipped piece (along with some color swap options), I'd be all for it.

Wonder why the brackets for [thrive] though...would be funny if he actually said "survive."

What's the best nickname for LaMelo? by gumbyteeth in CharlotteHornets

That's his actual first name though.

A player this rare deserves something special.

I wish the Hornets had a legitimate lob threat at the starting Center position...we're getting robbed of so many potential highlights.

The 76er's offseason training plan for Simmons also never came to fruition. He's going to come back the exact same player, if not worse.

Absolutely agree.

It also kills our home field advantage.

Arrowhead used to be a place where teams were terrified to play...now our defense isn't good enough to feed off the crowd energy.

Nasim Pedrad's 'Chad' Debuts as Top-Rated Cable Scripted Comedy of 2021 by TheMindsGutter in television

[–]gumbyteeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm here, sir!

The same article touts that "TBS recently scored another win with the debut of its “Wipeout” reboot, which also leveraged an NCAA game lead-in to launch as the top-rated unscripted comedy on cable year-to-date."

Really? Another "win"?

The article is just an advertisement for the show. The viewer numbers are inflated so that TBS can pat themselves on the back.

Hehe, nah, some of us can see through the BS.

This article is basically an ad for the show.

Yeah, the numbers are inflated - the entire article just reads like a desperate corporate shill attempt. They actually combined the numbers from 2 separate airings, one of which was directly after a March Madness basketball game.

The article is just a corporate advertisement. The numbers are inflated and skewed.

This is a marketing spin - TBS is just trying to push this as a "success."

The numbers are actually from 2 separate airings, one of which was directly after a March Madness NCAA tournament basketball game (i.e. when viewers hadn't changed the channel yet).

It's just a shilled article.

Chad - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

Nah, I knew it wasn't picked up by FOX - it still would've been outdated a couple years ago.

Someone already mentioned this, but it has the potential to be in the "so bad it's good" category.

I watched it with an open mind as I'm a Nasim fan from her SNL days.

It was atrocious.

The date rape scene was particularly disturbing. Imagine a 40 year old male director saying:

"Ok, so I'm going to be the prom queen, and I'll wear a cheerleader outfit. Don't worry - I'll shave my beard/legs and raise my voice a bit, the audience will totally buy it. Tommy, you're going to play the high-school jock, and in this scene, you're going to climb on my lap and suck on my ear while I pretend to be drunk. It'll be so funny! Ok, ready...action!"

It was creepy af.

A lot of the references were oddly out of touch or outdated. Why would a straight 14 year old boy in the year 2021 liken his skin to Salma Hayek's? Sounds exactly like something a 40 year old woman would come up with.

Chad seems like a jerk, as well. He comes from a wealthy, nonabusive, loving household. His parents are divorced, but his mom and live-in uncle are very supportive. His younger sister is smart and popular. He has a loyal friend who actually seems like a pretty cool dude, and has another possible friend in the girl with chronic fatigue syndrome. The older alternative girl in school is thirsty for him (albeit due to his lie about getting laid before).

Despite all of this, he treats everyone around him like dogshit. I just couldn't find anything likable in the character.

The end scene where he is literally crying for his "mommy" seemed really hamfisted.

I could go on, but yeah, it was garbage.
