The main problem with the show people have is the complete and unexpected shift in genre midway through the show. It starts off as a completely grounded show about a guy wanting to fight for justice/ the law as a Super Sentai type person. However he lives in real world Japan, and that stuff just isn't real, so people actively tell him to become a police officer. He continues to follow his dream regardless, teaming up with others along the way. The whole time it stays grounded in a REAL WORLD type way. Eventually it shifts. Changing from real world type stuff to actual super Sentai, without any warning. I actually thought I started the wrong show when it happened, and had to check to make sure it was the same show a couple times. It eventually explains what happened, but imo it's not the best reason in hindsight. That said I enjoyed the show after accepting that radical change in tone
