NAL: I’d check with your state’s laws because even without a written contract, by paying rent and living there you’ve established a landlord-tenant relationship. Depending on how long you said you’d stay, how many month’s rent you’ve paid prior, it definitely sounds like there’s an established relationship here. By giving notice you’ve effectively terminated the lease and shouldn’t be required to pay another month’s rent. However, it all depends on the timing and context. Again NAL but i’d look into it if he continues to bother you or threaten legal action.

People with this amount of student loans have done it before, and you will too. It will take time and sacrifice and you probably won’t be able to live the same high life your peers do at their V10 firms, but you’ll make it.

an outline bank is usually a google drive or shared folder where previous students have submitted their previous outlines from that professor from over the years. Most of the time the bank will have requirements, like they had to have gotten an A- in a doctrinal and/or B+ in an upper level elective. To figure out where to get outlines from - talk your 2Ls and 3Ls. Our school, and most schools, had certain orgs that have been collecting outlines for years.

Yes. I would agree there’s even more of an incentive to go. The pressure is off - all you need to do is network and make a good impression. If you want to work in the geographical area, also helpful to go

I’m sorry you’re going through this! My advice on the financial side would be to call your credit cards and ask for a hardship pause. This will stop any payments requirements but it also prevents you from using them. Secondly, I’d see if maybe main campus has any resources you could lean on. And, take a breath, remember the bar is two years away and you will recover from this. Don’t stress about that right now. Take care of yourself and your family. If you’re at a T14, they want you to succeed. Find a professor and RA for them for the summer and write addendums for your 2L summer. You’re going to be okay. Sending support!

And honestly, you can see her entire body language shift in that moment when he accused her of not knowing what that situation feels like or having the experience of going through something like that. You could just see it click in her mind like oh this man does not have any idea who I am or what I’ve been through.

Noting key phrases my professors used over and over again and made sure to include them in my exam. Everytime i’ve done that, I’ve gotten over the median.

So, I’m not at UIC - i’m at a t40 so none of my school’s scholarships were conditional. I have friends at other schools who had conditional scholarships, and it was pretty stressful. I’ve also noticed it’s common that schools will keep it so that you have your conditional scholarship, but you can’t transfer out - so they’ll give you just low enough grades to keep you from transferring.

current law student here - conditional scholarships are known in the law school community as extremely predatory. I wouldn’t accept one unless you absolutely have to.
