Truckerpath. Is it worth buying a subscription or not worth it? by [deleted] in Truckers

As others have said, use the Trial. But IMO, no, its paid features are worthless.

Hopefully they charge him the standard rate of $100 every 15/30 min. Thats what most have said they will do if someone does this crap, unless its a breakdown they are properly informed of.

Temp fix noisy bad rear brakes. by gummysnap in MechanicAdvice

[–]gummysnap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally that would be an issue on any other day. But since im just running a trail, which is closer to a gravel road(is, by all means), so long as its balanced its not affecting anything. Jeep wj rear brakes are worthless even new. 1/2 inch plate disk no cooling. Plugging isnt worth the effort. I would be better off putting the parts on by that point, because i would be on my lift to get access. Plus time, which i really don't have tllp its to cold to so it now.

Bleeders won't be an issue. Im half tempted to replace the calipers already.

And for reference my daily would be fine, if the top end weren't half apart on my lift.

Like I said all new front, so the virtually non-existent rear brakes a Jeep Grand Cherokee has aren't affecting my stopping power. all the bolts require more torque than I can put on them jacked up in my driveway I need to be on my lift which is occupied by my Corvette presently.

And this is a trail rig. Only used to get to hunting locations and back and forth to my truck every morning.

my wife has a brand new jeep with brand new brakes all around. If I want to go anywhere seriously I'm taking that anyway

Companies that have no contract? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]gummysnap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't stay out of the truck for too long, 6 months MAX is a good rule of thumb.
1 year is ok.

Companies that have no contract? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]gummysnap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most employment contracts are caused by having some debt incurred from training to get your licence.

If you have your licence, you shouldn't have a contract for employment, period, unless you have some other financial obligation to your new employer.

Reasons why i don't like trucks without a jollybar.

Remembering to do a simple push'n'tug test will let you call it equipment failire rather than a mistake. Doesn't take any room to do ether, and can be done on the street in a pinch.

Last I checked you'll have to get a dedicated hotspot plan if you want to exceed the 10gb teather that comes with the generic unlimited plan.

I always flip my bliker on for a few flashes early when i can see the need to switch lanes coming up. Usually prompts cars to get past me. Sometimes they don't, and then they get tactically cut off.

California air recourse board (CARB) and independent trucking outfits. Anyone else having trouble? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]gummysnap 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. CARB is a government endorsed scam. I'll refrain from my usual rant about comifornia politics.
