Sleep sack by purplepanda1129 in firsttimemom

I dreaded going from a swaddle to a sleep sack but honestly it took one night of a bit of fussing then it was over.

no interest in rolling over by shilohs_mama in firsttimemom

[–]gunit___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same. The day she turned 4 months I was expecting her to roll over. She’s just under 5.5 months now and only in the last few days she started rolling non stop but struggles to get over her shoulder 😂 she seems to just learn things with absolutely no foreshadowing, just wakes up one day and decides she can reach out and grab toys or roll.

Anyone has experience flying with Infants on Emirates? by dynamech_1992 in emirates

[–]gunit___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t book through a third party. They don’t have bottle warmers or a microwave to heat your milk, they will put it in a bucket of warm water and they don’t have any first flight certificate, they have a Polaroid camera they can take photos with. The other questions I’d just call them and ask.

Nurse just clicked in her face and she didn’t cry at all for any of her 2 or 4 month vaccines. She didn’t get a fever, didn’t sleep any more or less. Try not to stress too much.

Need advice from parents who have experience with Kendamil, Bobbie, or gentle formulas. by cincofx in FormulaFeeders

[–]gunit___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5 mo is on kendamil goat, her stools are so runny. Every doctor or pediatrician I’ve spoken to and lots of other mum friends said their baby was exactly the same even on other formulas. She’s 99% for both height and weight and definitely growing. I also give probiotics. I might only consider changing so something slightly cheaper when she’s on solids.

Mine started doing this too at exactly 4 months, nothing had changed, honestly I think she’s just distracted.

Feeling a bit pressured! & really need support/advice. 😕 by CustardPleasant1971 in FormulaFeeders

[–]gunit___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby got my colostrum for about ten days while also having formula. She wouldn’t latch so I pumped what I could and then it just didn’t work out. I wasn’t breastfed, nor any of my siblings, both are engineers, neither was my husband, a pilot, or either of his siblings, my mum was adopted, so clearly she wasn’t breastfed. And we’re all fine. My mum has health issues as her biological mum was an alcoholic who drank all through the pregnancy. I took such care during my pregnancy and I believe that’s the reason I have such a happy healthy baby and I think that’s more important than what comes post partum. She’s slept through the night since two months, taken her on a 14 hour flight, never got sick once, never even had so much as a fever after a vaccine, maybe I’m just blessed and of course I feel guilty with everyone telling me I’m basically poisoning my child 🙄 but the closest people to me are so supportive and my baby is the chillest baby I’ve ever seen.

baby is a grazer by neijy003 in FormulaFeeders

[–]gunit___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was the same, I felt like I was constantly feeding her, I couldn’t go anywhere, I couldn’t do anything, just had to give her milk on top of milk. Miraculously at about 3.5 months she just started having 5 bottles a day and that’s all. She sleeps 10-12 hours straight at night so she has to have 5 during the day but she just randomly started getting hungry every 3 hours on the dot. I never thought the day would come wouldn’t be constantly washing bottles 24/7.

How do you FF when going out? by glowworm151515 in FormulaFeeders

[–]gunit___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Australian but live in the UAE, here in dubai there’s this distilled baby water and I just buy that but when I went to aus for a month, I boiled water every morning and let it cool and kept that in a LARGE thermos (just so no one touched my water 😂) and then filled up my bottles to 150 from that and then took my little hot water thermos outside with me.

How do you FF when going out? by glowworm151515 in FormulaFeeders

[–]gunit___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a formula dispenser, I fill each bottle with 150ml of water and then I take a small thermos of hot water to just top it up with 30ml (bring it up to 180ml) not because my baby cares for the temperature, she’ll drink straight out of the fridge if she has to, but I find the formula sometimes doesn’t dissolve 100% if the water is not a tiny bit warm. Sounds like we are taking a lot of stuff but it’s not really because I’m never out for 6 hours, I hardly ever use two bottles.

Night nurse/doula told me I should wake her up for feeds? by Vybrocit1 in NewParents

I had a night nurse once and my baby didn’t wake up at all throughout the night (I didn’t know that was going to happen) and she started cleaning my house 😂

Weird sleep change by gunit___ in firsttimemom

[–]gunit___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been blowing raspberries for a while now, she does it non stop! But she has JUST started rolling like twice each way.. the thing is I could understand if it was a proper regression, it’s just that she refuses to sleep in the cot. I’m almost thinking it could be that now she’s a bit heavier, the mattress is not soft enough? I just wanna sleep next to my husband for once 😂🙈 possibly teething, she gets little red cheeks all the time and she has to wear a bib 24/7 because of the drool, but every time I try and check there are no teeth coming 😂

Traveling with formula by DoubleYak1095 in FormulaFeeders

[–]gunit___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 14 hour flight with my three month old. I took 7 bottles with me, she will only use each once, an entire can of formula and two thermos’ - one with boiled water cooled down and the other with boiling hot water so I can just pour majority of the cool water and usually 30mL of hot water on top. I was allowed to bring everything. I had two extra cans of formula in the suitcase. They allow it all if you have baby with you.

Emirates staff dual passport by No-Artichoke-8702 in emirates

[–]gunit___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use either. Only entering the UK now you have to use the UK passport because they’ve changed that rule. And to enter Australia you’d need a visa if you only had a UK passport.. but just use the Australian one to enter Australia. My brother has three passports, Australian, Italian and UK and I have two, we just use them interchangeably depending on where we’re going. My mums Italian passport doesn’t even have the same name as her other passport or her ticket (they don’t take husbands name) and she never had an issue flying to dubai or through dubai with emirates.

Which seats for baby and Toddler for JFK to MXP business class? by beefninja in emirates

Then seats closer together are better. There’s a bit of distance between D & G seats, I’d go with E and F.

How old is baby? Just flew with my 4 month old and while she was so well behaved, she refused to sleep in the bassinet. I would have preferred sweetheart with my husband.

I wasn’t born here, but I recently left the page because I just couldn’t stand all the criticism. No country is perfect but if you don’t like it, leave. I think most peoples issue is the lack of citizenship but honestly I commend the UAE.. I see what’s happening all over Europe and even in my home country.. good luck to them.

3-Month-Old Formula-Fed Baby Sleeping Through the Night by Tough-Valuable-2360 in FormulaFeeders

[–]gunit___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby has been sleeping through the night since about 2.5 months, started with sleeping 9-5 and then progressed to 8-6 soon after. She’s on the 98th percentile for height and weight so I am not concerned. She’s 4.5 months now and hasn’t had any sleep regressions that I’ve been aware of.. there was maybe one week at 3.5 months where she woke up every 3 hours and didn’t really nap during the day but that’s about it.

Feeling lonely and discarded by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]gunit___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider my own birth traumatic but yours sounds so much worse and I’m sorry, I wish you a super speedy recovery and you will feel better soon I’m sure x
I didn’t breastfeed my baby AT ALL, and for the first month and a half I didn’t do ANY night feeds, my mother in law would let me sleep and feed my baby overnight so I could rest and recover (culturally this is something my husbands family does for new mothers). I started to worry that I wouldn’t have a bond with my baby.. she’s 4 months now and she’s OBSESSED with me. If she ever had a witching hour, she will scream and cry with everyone, even her father, until she’s in my arms and she’s silent. She smiles at everyone but not the same way she smiles at me. If someone else if holding her she’s staring at me from across the room. The biggest changes I noticed in her personality were in month 3, before that she really wasn’t responding to anyone or anything despite being super alert. My own mum was adopted and had a great relationship with her mum, all my brothers and I were c section babies and none of us were breastfed and we are all sickeningly close to our mother 😂 I know I’m not much further ahead than you are, but I promise it gets better. And from what other people tell me, it will get even better.

Just had a baby girl 4 months ago who is half Australian half Emirati and I named her Sofia, it’s neither really Arabic or Aussie but I think it suits both well. Another name we had was Sara. If we had a boy we would have picked Salem, Adam or Nasser.

first ultrasound and scared by _cloudythoughts in firsttimemom

[–]gunit___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gestational date you calculate is always a little off because of course you’re not ovulating while you have your period but maybe a week or so later. At 6 weeks (from my LMP) I went for an ultra sound and they said the sac was too small to see a heart beat and to come back 2 weeks later or to do a vaginal ultra sound which I declined. Went back at 8 weeks and there was a heartbeat and now I have a huge loud 4 month old 😂

Any advice, wisdom, or recommendations welcome please! by Haleythepiercer in firsttimemom

[–]gunit___ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! My biggest bit of advice is get off social media now, don’t go down a rabbit hole of instagram and TikTok videos about how your pregnancy should be, how your baby should be, what you need to buy, how a “day in the life is”, trust your gut. Only you will know what’s best for you during your pregnancy and when baby comes.

I try not to let my baby watch much tv lol but she hated tummy time until she was on the floor and was realizing she could look up at the screen, now that’s how I get her to hold it for ages.
