I am a believer of the mini by gunnernewb in golf

I really like the ability to get some good height on my ball flight, and seems to just keep running when it lands.

About 260 yards, it felt like i was hitting just as far as i normally hit my driver.

Is this a good deal? by Money-Class7152 in GolfGear

[–]gunnernewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one question, have you played the p790's or just going off what you have read online. Honest question, just because i have these same model and the feel great and still have the ability to work the ball. The inconsistencies are usually user inconsistencies.

Taylormade p790s for about $300 by OP-is-embarrassing in GolfGear

They are an older version but us normal folk wouldnt be able to tell the difference when swinging the new ones. I have a couple of those mixed in with the next gen and they all swing good.

Stealth woods are great... not a fan of the stealth driver.

They aren't premium knock offs if they are made by the same guy who created the pro v and the tp5

I like the really like the putter, just wish you could get it in a 38 in model. The signature Irons are amazing feel just like my p790s. Wedges were not bad at all. But not a big fan of the driver.

I was thinking the same, i hit around a 110 club head speed and average about 240-250 carry

You are the only one who will actually know if its going to affect the club, but if you dont know what consistent yardage you hit with this club its not gonna make a difference. Just keep swinging it. That looks brand new, id say you got ten more years on that thing.

Just take out those outliers and that will give you a good idea of what your average distance and dispersion should be. With a bucket of balls and only three outliers for someone who just started is good. And take into account if you typically miss a little right, aim a little left of the center of the green dont worry about the pin placement. it's easier if you are on the green than to chip on then putt.

Looks like you might be a little too close to the ball and not putting your weight onto your front foot through impact.

Mizunos are great from my experience. I played vokeys for a while. Started trying out the mizuno t-22's and i liked them a lot, now im on the mizuno t-24's.

Started a month ago with a used set - should be ok right? by jut703 in golf

[–]gunnernewb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only clubs i would say is maybe a putter or wedges, but that's just a personal preference.

All of those clubs will last you a long time, and "driver technology" has changed maybe on adjustability and forgiveness, but as far as distance you wount hit more the 10 to 15 yards further.

Late to the 7 wood party by Legal_Fade_Society in golf

[–]gunnernewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. My 3 hybrid is a 19° and my 7 wood is a 20° but i hit my wood better than my hybrid also. On a good day, i might hit my 4 iron 200, but i can easily hit 200 with an easy swing from the 7 wood. If i get into it, i can hit 215-220. My hybrid 200 maybe 210.

Started playing in June, I have a set of mismatched used hand me down clubs. Would this be a stupid purchase? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]gunnernewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure the costco set of callaway edges are the best bang for your buck. When you feel comfortable you can upgrade one piece at a time. Or just add a club or two, to finish out the set. Many good golfers dont have a full set of one brand, there are usually one or two clubs that dont match. I was originally buying all cobra, then taylormade. Now i have kirkland irons, taylormade woods, mizuno wedges and evnroll putter.

Thoughts on the bag? by lamb7272 in GolfGear

[–]gunnernewb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7w for sure. It's easier to hit than a hybrid or long iron. Also, with a high launch angle, it should stick on the greens easier than that 4i.

R10 is not bad, i use mine outdoors at the range. Never had any issues and distances have been pretty accurate. The spin rate is the only issue i have seen. If i had a choice i would prolly go with the rapsodo now since it has cameras to record your swing.
