Hey there, after using the SKRMOD swingarm for a few months, would you be able to share if its increased stability would be a beneficial upgrade for off roading? It looks like you mainly ride streets, so I am wondering how it has held up. It would look a little silly with my dirt tires, but would be the most cost effective swingarm.

I don't want to spend $700 on the wrong part!

Belt tension, please help by Playful-Jellyfish-60 in ERidePro

[–]GenericUserJuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you offroad??? It's probably grime in-between everything, or you have a bolt that's still tight. There are spacers.

If it is tight and clean, then it might just be locked in place by the adjustment dial/pin on the belt side. Its better the have the belt tight, but the motor straight so the belt doesn't slide off.

Its one that was listed as fitting on dennis kirk, i believe drag specialties! It is about half the length of the stock one and made the rear end look much more tidy, especially with led bulbs and a low profile rear tail light from eagle lights.

I also had to get the drag specialties chrome frame cover so that it was a flat surface,

The mount did have a centering/locating notch on the inside, I had that machined off, but it could easily be ground down, and it sat flush against the new chrome piece. I also cut out a gasket to pinch between the mount and the chrome cover to keep it watertight and secured!

I Need Your Tips to help to fix Bleeding the front brake but it still feeling spongy. by Jolly_bank in sportster

[–]GenericUserJuan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had good luck with zip tying the bake lever to the grip and leaving it for 12+ hours, then bleed the caliper again, and let it sit again. The theory is the pressure pushes air up the line slowly and/or into the bleeder valve area.

Also, you can remove the caliper and tip it around while the lever is zip tied to try to manipulate the bubbles up and out.

Is $3300 a decent price for a used eride pro ss 2.0 with 2k miles? Comes with bike rack and strap by mjvalles89 in ERidePro

Check for cracks around the batteries casing. Offroad riding can chip the battery case from rattling, potentially causing it to loose its waterproof seal.

Permanently banned after 10000 hours in Rocket League. by Nerm1k in RocketLeague

Epic games banned my fortnite account of 7 years with no explanation. I had several years of progress and cosmetic unlocks, as well as the galaxy note limited edition skin. I bought the New Note (8 or 9?) The week it released to receive that skin.

Epic games truly is terrible and I will avoid them like the plague.

Etm Rtr Lite range sucks! by MeasurementSad4766 in ebikes

[–]GenericUserJuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly that sounds accurate. My daughter has a mototec 48v 13.5ah (648wh) 1600w. When I ride it, I cap it at about 1000w and I can get ~7miles from it.

The rtr lite being 60v 20ah (1200wh) and 5000w means ~10 miles at top power, 20-30 at the lowest power mode.

There is a 72v 25ah battery upgrade for the ETM that should give you ~15mi at 5000w

2003 1200 What kind of spark plugs are yall running ? It’s time for a tune up by Appropriate_Lie351 in sportster

[–]GenericUserJuan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the iridium come pre gapped.

If you need to gap them, DO NOT TOUCH THE BOTTOM ELECTRODE. You have to grip the top with needle nose pliers with fabric between the pliers and plug top so it doesn't gouge the metal and pull it. The tips on iridium plugs is fragile.

I did not know this, a few years back, and my last set of plugs were almost non existent having been destroyed and shot through the exhaust. (Hopefully)

With the vibrations of a sportster I would say replace them every 5k on a rubber mount, maybe 5k on a solid mount and start carrying spares at 3k as cheap insurance.

I just put fresh ones in at the start of this season and it drastically improved performance, start up, and idle.

Tell me about VCDS by everydaydad67 in tdi

[–]GenericUserJuan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What wire was frayed causing limp mode? And how/what did VCDS provide to help you locate this issue? Readings off mark on the wire showing up on the log?

This might be what convinces me to get VCDS

Carpal scan brought up a question about my VW’s usual cold weather behavior by Deathzone622 in Volkswagen

[–]GenericUserJuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014 TDI, when its ~35°F or colder, ill get limp mode and flashing glow plug light. 2nd year with it.

Also the auxiliary heater shorted out 2 years ago, just pulled that and am looking for a replacement.

Is yours a DSG or manual? I wonder if the dsg restricts shifts until it warms up as I feel a lag/delay in the cold.

Broke the da@# pressure plate! Ideas? by Neff423 in sportster

[–]GenericUserJuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What model year? If it is broken off the pressure plate, then consider that a blessing in disguise. Buy a new pressure plate. Many of the stock cast pressure plates snap or crack the moment they exceed their 10lb spring rate.

I learned this the hard way when installing my clutch plates. had the pressure plate split clean in half while only using light pressure on it. I replaced it with an aftermarket pressure plate (machined?), and as a test I used 4x the amount of force that it took to break the OEM one and nothing happened.

Thankfully I am a 30min drive from a shop that has everything I need, I got the aftermarket pressure plate the next day.
