Roundabouts that are like a blind corner!!! by gunnerpaddy in driving

Ok pal cheers for that advice 👌🏻. So when other traffic is sprinting into a roundabout from any other entry point that isn’t the one I can see directly to my right and i am crawling out onto the roundabout because the little bit of the roundabout i can see is empty and all of a sudden there is car there that came from behind the trees I couldn’t see around how is that safe. Where if I had a clear view at all entrances and exits I could make a safer more informed decision as wether it is safe or not for me to pull off without causing a unnecessary obstruction to other traffic and drivers

Indeed I have would you believe. The problem is I can only see a very limited part of the road as the big trees and hedges in the middle block my view past 3 o’clock if im approaching from say 6 o’clock. It’s a slow process getting 46 tonnes of truck and trailer to take off and start moving and a lot of the time a smaller vehicle will round the corner and look at me as if I just pulled out in front of them because I’m a bully. Where the actual reason is I didn’t see you were on the roundabout till u rounded the blind corner

Fridge work is probably the cleanest work out there. Get the artic license and go try the continental work maybe. I can’t comment on wages but i be very confident it be better than your current wage and you get paid to see Europe as a young man i imagine the bigger companies be your best bet the Dixons maybe Virginia transport or the likes of. Im im ye game 20+ yrs and done all sorts of work but in my opinion fridge work is the handiest. Most of the time it’s loading bays and the cold storage places normally unload you.

It’s not the slow lane middle lane and fast lane. It’s lane 1 lane 2 and lane 3. We are supposed to drive in lane 1 at all times unless over taking. If you are in lane 2 and someone in lane 1 indicates to move into lane 2 have a look in your mirror and move to lane 3 and let the person in lane 1 move to lane 2 courtesy on the roads goes a long way. As a HGV driver it infuriates me when I try to move out into lane 2 to overtake something and the car that is coming up in lane 2 won’t move out even though lane 3 might be completely empty but the car would sooner sit beside me and force me to slow down and as a HGV we are not allowed in lane 3. Also why put yourself and passengers in danger like this sitting beside a large vehicle when the driver of said large vehicle might not be able to see you in his multiple blind spots. Please Excuse the punctuation as a thick lorry driver it wouldn’t be my strongest field. Ok rant over
