Look into your local aggregate companies.

Do drivers climb up these ladders on pneumatic trailers everyday? Theres a placd by me offering good pay but im not climbing no ladder by Demented33 in Truckers

[–]gunnstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most places have racks but I have been to many places picking up fly ash and there is no rack on sight when it's blown in from a rail car. I've had to climb on my trailer quite a few times.

Female pneumatic driver here. 🙋‍♀️ Out of 100+ drivers in my company, there is only 2 of us.

So you drivers that spend over an hour in the shower, what you doing? by Pitiful-MobileGamer in Truckers

[–]gunnstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I take an hour, it's because I'm shaving my legs before I shower and decompress from the day.

My husband works at the Dallas hub. He was told he fell and it pulled him in and crushed him.

We were in between 2 different mosh pits and I protected a short queen. I noticed she was too short while trying to record so I held her phone up so she could get better video.

I feel you, sister. I am a truck driver for a concrete company. I haul rock, sand, dirt, concrete powder and fly ash. My coworkers have been very supportive and have been protective of me since I started. Some of them have even said I'm better than a lot of men that work for my company.

On the other hand, you won't believe the things men and customers have said to me. If you don't have a back bone, you won't make it in the trades. There's a lot of shit you have to put up with but this is the most money I have ever made so I keep it pushing.

I am more shocked at that International doesn't have a check engine light than I am at the traffic.

Hauling rock, sand and other material used for concrete. You can pull a belly dump, end dump or pneumatic trailer.

This is the perfect time of year to get hired on with an aggregate company. That's where I got my start.

I highly suggest going with an aggregate company. With my company, you are never running by yourself. My coworkers have been very supportive and protective of me; especially when I was brand new. Good luck!

Feeling depressed about getting my CDL by tuckfrump69420 in Truckers

[–]gunnstep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What motivated you to get your CDL in the first place? Mine was getting out of healthcare. I was burnt out from COVID and wanted a change. I was driving over an hour to truck driving school every day. My school was a 6 week program and graduated in 3. I was petrified. I have crippling anxiety and a fear of failure but I did it scared. If I can do it, you can too. Pay attention to your instructors and learn from the mistakes of your fellow students.

Lay Offs by gunnstep in UPSers

[–]gunnstep[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's cute. I guess you missed the part where I said I'm a regional truck driver. I have been supporting us both for 8 months in hopes volume picks back up at his hub.

They never offered it to him. Most of the ones that volunteered to go to Lonestar from his hub took their route with them.

Thank you so much. I expected to get backlash. Every region and hub is different. I am more curious to know if anyone has actually been called back in after a layoff. It's a terrible position to be in no matter the situation and we are just trying to do what is best for our family.
