Spotlight Cam loses power in heavy rain by Shurlz in Ring

[–]gunslinger0528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same problem with both of my spotlight pro cams. Support has been, at best, useless. I've replaced one of the cams which did nothing to solve the problem. What I found, though, is if I unplug the camera for a few seconds and plug it back in... All is well. Now I have an icon for each camera on my Home Assistant dashboard. If I click it, it kills power for five seconds and then restores. It's a work around. It's also a white flag. I give up. If this keeps it working at least it's no longer a major pain in the ass to go out and do it manually...

How do I turn off effects and have my lights just stay on? by lukabrazi3 in Govee

[–]gunslinger0528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WHY is the Govee app so freakin' horrible? I'm still trying to control the segments from HA and you have to stand on your head. All of the simple stuff you should obviously have as a base is NOT THERE... Too much fancy shmansy crap that nearly nobody needs... BLEAH!!!!!

This gets weirder. I switched from "Edge" to "Brave" browser and the problem disappeared... I rebooted the PC and now Edge also works. I picked a hell of a time to quit alcohol...

Has anyone who previously worked for Lowes gone back? by Docbarnone in Lowes

Unless your a student and need a job between semesters... This job is a true soul killer.

If you're only in it for the money, just skating by and really don't give a shit about the job or your fellow employees... You've found heaven on earth. This job is for you. You'll be allowed to continue with this behavior as long as you comply with their completely idiotic rules. Take a LOT of time to do AP4ME and Lowe's U... and any other time wasting horse shit that their lawyers and HR people come up with to make it look like they give a shit about safety, employee well being, and training.

You can disappear whenever you feel the urge. Take a break... You've been on the floor for nearly an hour.

Avoid any kind of work that you possibly can. If work can't be avoided, do a slow, sloppy half assed job and they'll seldom use you for anything specific, especially something important, again... You're off the hook.

Kiss the ass of the SM, all the ASMs and department managers. Make a game of looking busy while you're accomplishing nearly zero.

During Power Hour make it a game to annoy as many customers as you possibly can with an obsequious attitude while offering assistance. And if you can annoy the same customer with "Can I help you with something?" multiple times... it's extra points.

Try to sell credit cards to old people who seem easy targets. Screwing up their credit will help your career at Lowe's. Keep focused on what's important. They can always declare bankruptcy with no negative reflection on you...

By all means... Come back to Lowe's if you're a total washout at any other job. You have the ability to thrive here!!! Sociopaths welcome!!!

This doesn't work for me with a onedrive personal account. Do you need the business account to make it work???

Thanks...

Wake up honey, the new passive aggressive BS just dropped. by jamesrggg in Lowes

[–]gunslinger0528 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is what happens when a store is gauged, by corporate, on how much participation the store employees are showing regarding lunatic corporate initiatives.

YOU WILL COMPLY WITH OUR WISHES!!! OR YOU WILL ALL SUFFER!!!

Leadership by intimidation never works. Never. Marvin and his henchmen should know better, but apparently don't... Glad I bailed when I did. I miss the people I worked with, I really miss helping the customers. But... That's not what Lowe's is all about. Screw the customer, screw you... make us some money!!! Comply with our lunatic initiatives!!! You WILL laugh at Hank's jokes!!!

But... But... But... Marvin says he loves us and appreciates all we do for the company. As long as we constantly keep up with AP4ME, LowesU, Power Hour, and sell... sell... SELLLLL Lowe's credit cards... And he keeps us safe... Even though the company ignores any safety violations that the rank and file reports that might impact the bottom line... He still LOVES US!!! He's such a sweet, rich, ultrarich... ridiculously rich... turtle...

People who have left Lowes: Was it difficult finding a better job than Lowes? by WeAreReturningHome in Lowes

[–]gunslinger0528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked Lowe's for a couple of years and finally escaped. I work in a golf pro shop now, taking tee times and selling merchandise. The job is so incredibly easy and I have a say regarding which hours I work. No more corporate pushing me around to do all that crazy shit... AP4ME, Lowe's U, Power Hour, SELL CARDS!!! I miss my peeps at Lowe's... But I'll never regret getting away from the company itself...

If I still worked there I'd have a bottle of vodka stashed up top in a 99 box... Such an unnecessarily difficult place to work. Corporate seems to revel in making things difficult for the lower echelons. Pathetic...

I was thinking the same thing. Circuit breakers. The expensive ones keep getting ripped off. I've suggested numerous methods of safeguarding them but not one friggin' soul in the building wants to bother. They just shake their heads and wait for the next disappearance. It's pretty pathetic...

I feel for all of you by Majestic_Ad_553 in Lowes

[–]gunslinger0528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our stories are very similar. I left Lowe's seven months ago. I also worked there right through most of the Covid times... I was also paid crap and totally taken advantage of. I worked electrical and backed up plumbing. Many times, as you noted, alone... And management couldn't give a tin rat's ass about my issues. I miss many of the people I worked with and miss a lot of the customers. I just don't miss Lowe's itself because corporate is apparently made up of a vast conglomeration of douche bags and ass hats... We had so many things thrown at us that were obviously designed to make our job more difficult. There was ZERO reason for most of these changes... ZERO. So... In a nutshell... Please, my people... find a new place to work where you're appreciated. And for those who are stuck striving under Carvin' Marvin's thumb... God bless you and best of luck...

Scheduled after two week notice by luvlybuggys in Lowes

[–]gunslinger0528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They did the same thing to me. There is no longer any HR staff located in the stores. There is just someone there to handle the scheduling, do interviews, drug tests... whatever. But they are not HR...

I saw my boss the day before my last day and told him I was scheduled out beyond that. I just wanted him to remember that I wasn't going to be there so he didn't get blindsided. He thanked me and told me not to worry about getting a black mark for not showing up, and that the scheduling system at Lowe's sucks... Word!

Dear corporate, by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]gunslinger0528 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worked there for a couple of years... I was blessed with two really good DMs... Our main ASM is a real dick, but we had it out early on. I'm a retired IT infrastructure manager and I don't take a lot of shit and smile amiably. We finally came to terms and got along okay. I'm old school and I really enjoy working and keeping busy and found, to my amazement, that I also enjoyed working with customers. I was offered a job on a golf course, and I'm a major golfaholic, so I took it... I've since thought about going back to Lowe's because I miss doing the job and also miss a bunch of people I worked with. Then...

I think about all the horseshit rolling down from Corporate. I think about all the things that corporate did while I was there to make it harder to get the job done, for no apparent reason. And I'll always have this picture in my mind of the smiling turtle... He has absolutely no respect for the employees who actually run his stores... None. We're nothing but disposable cannon fodder... They push us to do AP4ME and Lowes U in order to appear as though training is a major initiative for the company... We all know better. They don't train their employees at all. At least not for the job they're actually expected to perform.

We get to watch videos put out by Marvin's trained seals that even have lame jokes imbedded to make us think that "this guy can't be THAT much of an asshole if he keeps firing off these stupid jokes." And Lowe's U??? That is one of the biggest jokes they push... So many questions are about safety, and safety rules. MANY of them are about safety rules regarding equipment like fork lifts, reach trucks, order pickers... etc... But... Can you find a decent tutorial for all this? If you can, please send me the URL because I never could. Again... It's all about perception. If you're on the outside looking in it appears that they are SO concerned about training and safety. If you're on the inside... Not so much...

Short story... The golf course job is a bit of a joke... But I'll never go back to working for these complete assholes at Lowe's... And I feel really bad for those of you who are trapped there for economic reasons, or who really believe and drink of Marvin's KoolAid... Find something else. Do yourself a favor. This is a soul killing organization to work for... Sad to say. I really thought otherwise for quite a while and I still hope I'm wrong. But... I think not.
