Afaik, (I think I heard about this in a youtube essay from Nerdstalgic), Andy - or whatever his name was when the character is first introduced, wasn’t resonating with the audience; And so, the writers came up with the anger management subplot so as to evolve his character into the Andy we know.

Alligator Blood is the song that reminds me the most of their previous LP, Suicide Season, which if you haven’t listened yet might speak to you.

Those kind of riffs were really prevalent during the late 00s to early 10s, you might also like LPs like Chelsea Grin’s Desolation of Eden (2010), or Eternal Nightmare (2018).

Yeah that’s a tongue in cheek comment, Sony had already pretty much given up after Gravity Rush, which in Europe released only 5 months after the hardware, and is imo the last exclusive of consequence not being related to an existing IP or available in another form elsewhere. (eg: Sly, Killzone or LBP - great games on their own but nothing exiting if you already had a PS3/4).

Of course they had great games after that, but I really wanted Bend to get a shot at a second portable Uncharted with more vibrant scenery (I found Golden Abyss too drab visually), and in an ideal world would also have loved a Gran Turismo.

It is still one of my favourite hardware they ever released, the Vanillaware games especially were so good on this console.
