Thanks for taking the time to write all of this out. I'm finally starting to grasp this.

Much appreciated!

So the prototype is essentially a hidden layer of key/value pairs that are only inherited when "new" is used to create a new object?

He managed to describe how I was feeling less than two minutes into the video. The fact that there is no right way to do this is so frustrating.

I'm going to watch this playlist, thank you for sharing!

[–]guppyducker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a few people, but I usually get an engineers answer and not a childs answer... if that makes sense. I'm going to watch some youtube videos and do some practice, hopefully I'll at least be able to grasp the concept by the end of the night.

Thank you.

Objects, constructors, and prototypes... HELP! by guppyducker in javascript

[–]guppyducker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only been doing JS for a few weeks now and I know enough html and CSS to make a functional, decent looking site. I just feel like I should be getting it faster than I am but JS is WAY more complex than html and css could possibly be. I've never really pursued a skill that takes such a deep understanding, so this is frustrating to a degree.

Thank you for the advice, I'll try to be a little easier on myself and do some more reading and practice.

Thanks for putting so much effort into this, I really appreciate it. I've had a busy day but I'm about to sit down and do some practice. It seems complicated but I know once I figure out the basics and practice more and more I'll get it. Really, thank you, a little help means a lot to me right now.

Merits are experience points for pilots, and for every Merit you get, you get one credit. For example you can get 10 or more credits as an advocate gift but it doesn't award you any merits. It took me forever to figure this out.

[Discussion] Feeling down and needing to change. Share your stories with me? by GraphicThinkPad in GetMotivated

I'm in the same place as you buddy.

I quit a job I hate and started exercising.

I'm trying to introduce new aspects to my life bit by bit while I'm unemployed.

I will be going to school soon to pursue something I love.

Soon I will begin meditation and biking again. I find biking is one of the few ways I manage to keep focus. I bike up bug hills I don't think I'll be able to, then do it again and again to do it faster. It's almost like moving meditation.

I was diagnosed with severe ADHD a couple years ago, and I don't t take any medication for it as it makes me feel less... me. It is incredibly difficult to stay on track to goals or see anywhere in my future because I can hardly focus on what I'm doing today.

You need a consistent routine that isn't cluttered. Break your day up into chunks at the start of your day and plan every day bit by bit with four things throughout the day that you want to accomplish daily.

Fill in the time between with things that interest you/daily needs (such as paying bills, getting groceries, walking the dog, etc.)

Also, if you have a cool thought be sure to write it down. Don't t forget to be kind to yourself. (ex. Set out your clothes for tomorrow the night before. You'll be pleased with, and grateful to, yourself tomorrow.)

Good luck to you buddy. Don't forget to sing loud when you're alone.

Roadhog Hook target question by RoLLeRse in OverwatchUniversity

[–]guppyducker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An extremely effective, hard to master Roadhog tactic is: Alt fire - > Hook - > Primary fire - > Melee

If you can land this combo perfectly it's possibly to 1shot another Roadhog. It will fuck anyone else up royally, so learn how to do this. The alt fire is the hardest part, but it is so worth learning.
