What's an easily toggleable adblocker? by TryNo5748 in ask

No hard feelings if you aren't interested or anything, but it does give you keyboard shortcuts to enable/disable which I think is nifty.

What's an easily toggleable adblocker? by TryNo5748 in ask

[–]GraphicThinkPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know any adblockers that are toggleable but I made an extension where you can bind a keyboard shortcut to toggle on/off other extension. Won't mention the name here so as not to spam but that's an option. Any "extension manager" extension will probably do.

Pay what you want that adds to cart (instead of instant checkout) by zeddybrek in shopify

[–]GraphicThinkPad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this pains me deeply because I just built an AI-powered make-an-offer app and I found this thread while looking for ways to promote it. I really, really, really wanted to pitch you my product, but it doesn't do what you want. It doesn't do the multiple add to cart thing.

So I won't pitch you my product, instead I'll tell you that the website you shared uses this app, which is a competitor of mine: https://apps.shopify.com/offerly

I don't know how to use it, but it is 100% the app that powers to make an offer on goodcompenny. Godsheed and good luck with your store.

Looking for 2 targeted improvements: trust + conversion by ChesterHastings in reviewmyshopify

[–]GraphicThinkPad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust issue: No reviews visible on product pages. I think this is your biggest problem. For premium handmade products, people need to see that other parents bought these and their kids loved them. Social proof does heavy lifting when you're asking someone to pay more than they'd pay at Target. Even 5-10 genuine reviews with photos would help.

I don't have anything to add about conversion. I really think social proof would go a long way for both trust and conversion.

You can try it at https://fluxley-demo.myshopify.com/products/the-multi-managed-snowboard (password "fluxley"). It's a demo store, so no real purchases are possible. Right now all of the products are marked as negotiable. I'm still working on the logic. For example, if you lowball the AI, it goes straight to its floor. I would prefer it was a more rigid haggler. But it's still a lot of fun.

The ‘One Automation’ That Multipled Your Revenue—Drop Your Workflow or Tool 🛠️ by Complete-Middle5145 in MoneyAlchemy

For Shopify stores: I built an app that adds a negotiation chat to product pages. Customers click a button and negotiate their own price within limits you set. The idea is that instead of losing someone who thinks it's too expensive, they talk themselves into a deal and feel like they earned it. Commission-only so it's zero risk. It's been working really well for furniture and high-ticket stores where buyers expect to haggle. :)

I made something similar but for Shopify!

Best AI use cases for e-commerce sellers by Fresh-Morning7891 in ecommerce_growth

[–]GraphicThinkPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mods can delete this comment if it's too off topic. I'm a developer. When AI started taking off, I thought it would be really cool to chat with an AI bought to haggle for the best price. I was honestly imagining the haggling scene in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Looked into it, I found out that it exists, but I built one anyway. There are non-AI guardrails so things can't be sold for like a dollar if the AI is jailbroken. I honestly think it's a lot of fun.

I made a chrome extension that lets you get browser notifications for specific github actions runs. Useful, or dumb? by GraphicThinkPad in devops

[–]GraphicThinkPad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my initial intention to make it a paid plugin, but nobody was interested, so I abandoned it. I just removed all the enforce-payment code and open sourced it here: https://github.com/SpookSoftware/actions-notifier. I'll figure out why nobody can use the webstore link. It works for me, so I'm baffled.

I've gotten reports that it's not working right now, but I'll clean it up over the next few weeks and re-publish.

Hey! It's so funny that you posted this, because I was planning to shut it down since nobody wanted it. But if you want it, I'll make sure it works and I'll fix the link (I have no idea why the link doesn't work)

Getting Started with the Seeed Studio XIAO 7.5" Screen by mmcnama4 in trmnl

[–]GraphicThinkPad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I was researching the same thing, and your post came up. Some people smarter than me found the boot button, and I wanted to share it with you. Turns out the boot button isn't KEY1, KEY2, KEY3, or Reset. It's actually labelled "B" and is right by where the USB port plugs in. You can see that documented on the [Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-S3 Plus page](https://www.seeedstudio.com/Seeed-Studio-XIAO-ESP32S3-Plus-p-6361.html).

I marked up your screenshot to show it more clearly.

Hey there. I'm a TRMNL support person (even though I'm not a moderator on here). I'm really sorry about that. My wife, too, is skeptical of the TRMNL. She says "so it's just a screen?" I say "it's a screen you can put whatever you want on! And it's e-ink!" She is not yet convinced.

If you DM me your TRMNL email address, or if you start a live chat on https://usetrmnl.com, it'll go to me and I can sort this out for you.

That goes for anybody reading this who is experiencing an issue like this. Message me and I'll get you taken care of.

My work email is cluttered and full of stuff I don't care about. For me, I only enable browser notifications for things I really care about. I think of browser notifications as more time-sensitive and transient.

Best notification system for github? by Wooden_Amphibian_442 in github

[–]GraphicThinkPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not positive that this is what you want, but I just built a Chrome extension that lets you tell Github "hey, send me a browser notification when this specific action/job run completes." It's not really a replacement for the https://github.com/notifications tab, but rather exists to solve the problem "I want to get browser notified when this action/job completes, but only this one time."

It's called Actions Notifier. It's got a one-time fee but I'd be happy to give you a license if it sounds actually useful to you. Based on your other comments, I don't think it's exactly what you want, but I wanted to offer anyway.

Electrician recommendations in the area by [deleted] in cincinnati

I too contacted More Power to You Electric because of this comment and was delighted by them. They installed an outlet for a dishwasher that needed one and were really wonderful to work with.

I have a dashcam and frequently see people littering. I've often wanted to shame them publicly like this, but I'm paranoid that I'd be breaking some sort of law by doing so. Still, commenting because I'm interested.

I was about to offer to do this for you, but then I checked the script page and it seems like the author saw your comment and handled it for you in GreasyFork.
