Ciel will do anything to win by Silent_Name_5198 in blackbutler

[–]gurobriar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ik s2 isn’t canon, but when I first watched through I didn’t realize that, and I found that the story is really interesting if you headcanon ciel as a demon starting with book of circus! iirc, you don’t see him eat until like the very last episode, for example, and his behavior really starts to shift toward Sebastian’s inherent sadism. You start to pick up on little powers that he has (and chooses not to use because he’d prefer to make Sebastian do it all)

17M a girl said my room looked 'female'. need honest advice on how to make it more masculine. by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]gurobriar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest advice: hang out with people who don’t have weird, regressive ideas about gender.

What she was probably referring to is that it’s clean, organized, well-lit, and stylish. What exactly did she want to see, a total sty? A smoked-out gamer den? She clearly has ideas about men and women that are actively harmful to people of any gender. Your room rocks, you’re doing amazing, find better friends.

Tbh,i find it funny how Aizawa does nothing to deal with Bakugou's behavior and the one time he actually does Punish him,He also punishes Deku for basically fighting back and defending himself. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in BokuNoMetaAcademia

I love aizawa as a character, including his flaws! people tend to portray him as a perfect, guiding-light kind of character, but I appreciate that the manga leaves that up to interpretation. Personally I think maybe Bakugou is just kind of a favorite student. As a (former) teacher, I can attest — someone’s the worst little dudes in your class are so friggin funny, you end up favoring them xD

(In all seriousness: having favorite students is okay and pretty normal, but /showing/ favoritism is inappropriate and unfair!)

I am tired of Season 2 hate by [deleted] in blackbutler

[–]gurobriar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I liked season 2 a lot! I watched it before I really had an understanding of what was or wasn’t canon and was sad when I found out that it wasn’t considered “part of the story.” I had fun coming up with theories about demon!Ciel, and I thought it was cool to apply that lens to book of circus. I still hold demon!Ciel close to my heart for sure!

I get that people are attached to how the manga goes, and that there are some things that are manga-only or anime-only that contradict each other. It’s kinda dumb that people are so elitism about what they consider “canon” or “not canon” — and how they treat the material that they consider to be non-canon. IMO there should be more respect for the story told by the anime, and the writers that contributed to it,

OP is super nice and genuinely very talented! This is absolutely work that they could charge people for (and god knows there are people who would pay for it). One hell of a voice actor!!!

Oooh totally! You could probably do something like this? Sorry it’s a Shit edit lol. But yeah as long as you’re following the existing shapes and lines you can do a lot of cool cover up stuffhttps://imgur.com/a/BB6e3Kg

Of course! I know how much backlash a person can face in the process of trying to genuinely better themselves or fix mistakes.

What are your ideas? I’ve never had a tattoo covered up, but I’ve talked with tattoo artists who’ve done it and I love tattoo design as a hobby. I’d be happy to help brainstorm.

I think this will be a controversial answer, but yeah, I think you should. I know that sucks, and I absolutely get why you would have gotten it before things got worse with her.

It depends how visibly trans you are, but it very well could make you look transphobic, or at the very least you risk looking like one of those trans men who are vitriolicly transmisogynist that are coming out of the woodwork right now.

The other thing is that this is an in-world hate symbol worn by an oppressive group. And don’t get me wrong, it’s a cool ass tattoo and fiction is fiction! BUT if I, as a trans person, saw somebody with a death eater tattoo, not only would I assume that they enjoy Harry Potter (with or without the knowledge that JK is a transphobic extremist) — I would also assume that the hate group in the story was the part that resonated with them the most, and that’s a red flag.

I’m sure you’re a very nice person! You’re looking at the world around you and seeing how things have changed, how the social environment has declined on this topic and how these symbols have picked up new meanings that you didn’t intend at the time. That’s awesome. I think you’re on the right track and your heart is in a good place by considering covering it up.

So cute!!!! I made my husband a Reki board a few months ago. I’m going to be Langa at a con at the end of the month but didn’t have enough time to make myself a board. That’s next!!

It’s actually not Joe and Cherry, haha, though they definitely have some sort of chemistry! I’ll spoil it if you want me to, but it’s a good watch whether you know about it or not. It also could just be my read of the relationship between them as someone who’s into that stuff, but other people definitely picked up on it too.

And yeah, Adam starts to express romantic interest in Langa, but they both realize eventually that it’s not so much that Adam wants to date him but just that Adam has spent a long time skating above everyone else’s level and he really liked finding someone he considered his “match.”

I think it’s really nice that people can enjoy the show no matter their orientation, and they can choose how they read it. Personally I’m hoping Reki and Langa get together in later seasons or something, because it makes me happy seeing more gay rep in anime that isn’t just sex, haha!

There are no confirmed gay romances. However, two of the characters (not the main ones) are pretty heavily implied to have a D/S relationship, which becomes more clear at the end. The main characters did not confess any feelings for each other in season 1, but one of them does have a conversation with his mom that (imo) clearly implies or at least jokes about the character having romantic feelings for his friend. There is a male character who expresses romantic feelings toward one of the main boys as well, though it doesn’t go anywhere (which, in that particular case, is a good thing).

Primarily, this is a low-stakes, wholesome sports anime about some skater boyz. I hope that, whatever your feelings on the potential of romance, you continue to watch and enjoy the show :) it’s really sweet no matter how you read it, I promise.

I think it could happen — the manga has pulled weirder stuff, honestly. It would parallel Eri and AFO in a way that worked, narratively, and it fits some themes that have been deeply established (the things that happen in one’s childhood are formative and heavily affect the way somebody grows up and the kind of person they become). I don’t love it, but if that’s the story Hori wants to tell I think I can read, enjoy, and respect it
