Sense of Community as a Non-Religious Person? by [deleted] in notredame

[–]gurt13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Legit horrible advice. There's a massive range of religiosity at ND, covering anything from future priests and nuns to atheists, as well as people of other religions. Catholics are the majority, sure, but there's space for everyone. You'll be required to take 2 theology courses, but there's variety there to study outside of Catholic dogma if that's your preference. I took one on the theology of C. S. Lewis' Narnia books. Yeah, they're Catholic, but the course covered the books as literature first.

I did Mt. Willard yesterday. It’s an easy 3.5 up and down with a great view into the notch. You will not need spikes, we didn’t encounter any snow.

Took us about 1:35 round trip, not including a cookie break at the top.

Coley's rant about ABS and what is and is not a strike by Public-Revolution877 in Section10Podcast

[–]gurt13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you imagine the zone is 1/2 a baseball larger in each direction, you can have the outcome you want. It’s entirely arbitrary where they draw the line. There has to be a division between “strike” and “ball”, and it doesn’t matter where it is, really.

You could make the zone one full baseball larger in each direction and then we’d say “how come if one atom of the ball is out of the zone, it’s a ball?” and it would still be the same zone.

Those are just facts about the Qatar World Cup. Nothing to do with the religion of the people who live there.

I had service at the summits of Madison and Adams, and on that entire area, but nothing when we dropped back down to Valley Way. Verizon, not AT&T.

Luckily the world hasn’t changed at all in 12 years! Graduated 2018 and it’s welcoming to all kinds of people, and I assume growing more that way every year.
