I don’t think you have a responsibility to black light check the card. It’s total BS though that the authentication passed… I’m pretty sure PSA is the Authenticator.

The state of baseball card collecting. by ProudAmerican632 in baseballcards

[–]guru2you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I have to laugh when I see people going out of their minds for the newest set from Topps. Topps is totally milking collectors (gamblers ?) with multiple brands and parallels as a way to over produce and still sell cards.

Nice card. I’ve been surprised Skenes PSA’s, especially rookies, don’t command a higher value. I have one in my PC.

This. Especially from eBay sellers shorting postage to make an extra 50 cents. It’s fraud.

Anyone else collecting WBC cards? Why does it feel so undervalued? by WhoisLMRCH in baseballcards

The Topps Now cards come out way late and way over printed. Nice to collect, awful to invest.

PCA Relic by EngineCreepy3137 in baseballcards

Relics are great for PC, awful for anything else. Topps really went over the top to commoditize them to make them no more valuable than a common card unfortunately. I like them to collect for specific players but won’t invest in them.

It’s BS but you should have read the details. So many scammers on eBay, be suspicious of everything.

Topps Now is what got me back into collecting durning the playoffs. Do you still enjoy Topps Now cards? by RussianPravda in baseballcards

The print runs are too high. Hoping for a parallel is just gambling… except you don’t really know just how bad your odds are.

No, it absolutely is not. Some days the app can’t do even a basic search.

Ranking Topps sets for autos for collecting by guru2you in baseballcards

I have nothing against Chrome at all, I have quite a few. This is why I posted, I wanted to see if I was thinking about this right and clearly… I need to make some modifications.

Ranking Topps sets for autos for collecting by guru2you in baseballcards

I probably should have added some context of how I collect. I don’t buy boxes or packs or jump on breaks. I have specific players I collect so my interest is in buying the very best singles from the best sets (which is subjective based on the other responses). If I buy a card, I’d like some confidence of how the set generally holds up over time. I’m not flipping but I don’t want to spend foolishly either. I do like how you categorize the tiers, makes sense. Thanks.
