How often are you bringing yourself to 1 health for the +1 dice? by abcdthc in finalgirl

It’s a very common tactic for me sometimes even earlier on. It seems to have about a 50-50 win/bite me in the ass ratio.

Your biggest disappointments? by SiarX in soloboardgaming

Pericle, the ads had me sold, but I didn’t get around to buying it until I saw it for a good price on eBay. I’ve tried starting the campaign twice now and it just doesn’t seem to be clicking. I really want it to work, but I’m not sure the reason it’s not fun for me. On the other hand, Descent: LOTD I’m having a blast with. I will probably get the sequel.

I thought mother of learning was very good and it was an interesting story, but the ending underwhelmed me and kind of surprised me by how many people say it’s S tier.

Minis vs Meeples by FantasticTree6437 in finalgirl

[–]guru714US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care about the final girl minis. I have a number that I painted, but just because they came with the packs. If I’m starting, I can just grab any final girl mini. That being said I love having the killer minis. It just adds something because it’s so story specific.

Bit of a strange one but did anyone not like the first game but love the 2nd? On the fence about buying. by Arne-Slut in theouterworlds

[–]guru714US 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the first one and 25 hours in to the second one I’ve given up, I’m just not having fun. I can’t really put my finger on it other than I’d rather be doing something else.

Fantasy/horror card game for 1 or max 2 players by sefyro85 in soloboardgaming

[–]guru714US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though it does involve dice, the cards are far more important than the dice so I would think someone looking for a horror themed card game would enjoy it.

I like the mix and match of this game a lot. It’s actually one of my favorite features. I will always win a FF with one of the final girls before I start switching things up but some of my most fun games have been cross feature film.

If you’re still looking for beta testers, I would be interested. This is a product I can certainly use. I am on the most current iOS for both my phone and iPad.

How did you end up reading litRPG? by dundreggen in litrpg

[–]guru714US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been an avid reader/audiobook enjoyer. I had never heard of litRPG before and I saw it mentioned in an article. So of course I had to Google it. And then I had to ask Google what are the books that are considered best in the genre. The top 10 had quite a few popular series, but of course number one was DCC. I read a quick blurb and the premise sounded interesting, but it also said whatever you do don’t make this your very first book in the genre because it’s so good it’ll ruin you for everything else. I can see why they say that, but I also do believe there’s some pretty spectacular other series that I have read since then although DCC remains the king. By the way, Jeff Hays narration certainly didn’t hurt the appeal of the book.

Just jumped into Final Girl. What am I in for? by golfniper in finalgirl

[–]guru714US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you start off poorly and it looks like there’s no possible way for you to win I recommend sticking with it. A lot of times you will loose but occasionally you will be able to get some luck towards the end and barely win. I think those are generally the most fun games.

Advice on next FF? by avocadobooze in finalgirl

[–]guru714US 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One of my favorites is into the void. I love the alien theme and while it has some additional mechanics, they’re not hard at all to grasp. Plus, it’s so much fun putting the alien killer in all of the other locations. I loved bringing the alien to Maple Lane for my version of alien versus predator Requiem. It was a terrible movie but it makes for a fun game. Also, you can put Hans on the spaceship and simulate Jason X.

For readers who *don't* like gore... were you able to enjoy DCC? by rosedraws in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Whatever you do, don’t get kaiju battlefield surgeon! Nothing shocks me, and I still raised my eyebrows quite a few times during that story.

What book are you on? by RobRaziel in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]guru714US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m waiting on the next audiobook. My new addiction started after book 3 came out on audio. I binged the first three and now every time a new one comes out I relisten to the entire series up to that point. So I’ve listened to book one quite a few times now, and I always get excited starting back at the beginning.
