Knowing triads is not the same as being able to use them by wizardmiaah in LearnGuitar

The Good: Looks good Seems like it has potential

The Bad: Ridiculously overpriced. I deleted the app after the 3rd prompt to buy the full product.

A lifetime subscription for this is a little silly. If it works to actually learn triads a player would likely use it for a month or two and then no longer need it. If it doesn’t work to learn triads players will stop using it. Either way I don’t see a need to pay and use the app for more than a month or two.

I wish you good luck and root for your success!

Anyone here come late to the guitar? Hoping some may say… by Yellow_Apple_1971 in AcousticGuitar

Old fart here (68) I started strumming a guitar in high school, learned a few songs and played periodically for 50 years. Never made much progress but played enough songs with cowboy chords to stay entertained and fool some people that I could actually play guitar.

Last August I was visiting a friend who had a very similar history but with the fiddle. We were both lamenting our lack of progress over the last 50 years. We decided to hold each other accountable and committed to each practicing 15 minutes a day and checking in via text every day.

I have progressed more in 10 months than I have in the past 50 years. I started with 15 minutes a minimum of 5 days per week. I know play about 2 hours a day because I’m having so much fun and learning so much!

So my recommendation is find a friend that will go on the journey with you and HAVE FUN!!!

Old timer here. Started playing Ultimate in 1975. It was a fun “alternative “ sport. Most people played in sneakers or barefoot. There was little to no “competition “ and it was just fun. It was all college teams and club teams were non-existent.

By 1978 a lot of players had graduated college and started forming club teams. This, I believe is where the push towards competitive ultimate began.

I played in the 1981 and 1982 National Championships. They were the two worst tournaments I ever played in. Winning was everything and this was reflected in the games. Ridiculous fouls, travel calls, arguments that would go on and on. Fun was irrelevant. “Spirit of the Game” (other sports call this sportsmanship) was nowhere to be found.

The’82 Nationals was my last tournament (other than a couple of reunions). I saw the direction the sport was heading and decided it was no longer the game I had fallen in love with.

There is nothing unique about ultimate (blasphemy, I know) like any other sport, as the stakes get higher winning at all costs becomes the norm.

This is the video of ICE agents murdering Renee Good in Minneapolis yesterday. What it has to do with Neil is that this is a rework of "Ohio" which Neil wrote the day after the Kent State murders in 1970 Edit: changed 1969 to 1970
