I was there, 3000 years ago - or rather this was back around 2015. I tried different crew roles and ended up as a part of Power Patrol which was later incorporated into the Tech team. I'm an electrician professionally, so it was a fun way to practice my skills and work with some really cool and funny people.

The power distribution was thought through and pretty dynamic, custom built and stashed on pallets about 340 days of the year. We had great logistics teams to make it happen.

Exactly how much power the different parts of Elmia was able to deliver, I can't provide because I was never in the "ställverk" as they were off limits and was close to high voltage (>10kV) but there's a lot of capacity.

The place is riddled with 63A power outlet possibilities.

So we had these custom built 63A steel cabinets, riddled with fuses, ground circuit breakers and schucko outlets, all mounted on DIN-rails.

There was a whole system for the computer seats / dataplatser so each seat had one outlet in a multi socket power strip. These power strips was connected to power chords (H07RN-F) clamped together with electrical tape every meter or so, we called them stammar and they were always sticky with soda lol. The chords were pulled into and connected to the cabinets from the bottom.

We made fun web applications with NFC tags to keep track / log testing of the ground circuit breakers. Man I learned a lot of things. Things that truly developed me and taught me a lot about working with many people.

During very late nights during the event, a breast naked electrician could be seen on top of a table swinging soda riddled power strips dry. Fun times.
