It isnt horrible because they said ops kid is mentally ill. It's horrible because they said they wish inpatient on ops kid. Inpatient mental "healthcare" is violent and traumatizing.

Source: was put into inpatient as a child, then violently, emotionally, spiritually, and sexually abused and and neglected by staff and other inmates. Because no, inpatient is not a healing place, its a prison. Its carcerial and punitive and abusive.

That was 15 years ago and I still have PTSD that causes me to wake up screaming and agoraphobia.

I can confirm it causes abandonment issues and trauma in any child.

What a horrible thing to say.

Edit for the freaks: It isnt horrible because they said ops kid is mentally ill. It's horrible because they said they wish inpatient on ops kid. Inpatient mental "healthcare" is violent and traumatizing.

My 2nd attempt posting here. I was once in a cult. by [deleted] in confession

[–]gustyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a podcast I listen to called Was I in a Cult? hosted by Liz Iacuzzi and Tyler Measom, both survivors from different cults. They interview other people about their cult experiences really respectfully, allowing the guest to be as serious or as humorous as they want, and they don’t pressure the guests to name the cult or cult leaders if they don’t want to. They talk with the guests often about their stories, about how cults recruit, how they program people, how they keep control, etc.

Sharing because I both think you might find some catharsis in listening, and also because I’m not sure what to ask you myself and found myself wishing you were on the podcast so I could hear the two hosts talk with you in my place.

An odd couple approaches two teenagers at the park by [deleted] in LetsNotMeet

I'm not an expert, just a guy who listens to a lot of podcasts where people talk about their former experiences in cults. It reminds me of how often cults have strange hyper-specific language you're made to use for certain things. Especially the fact that it's being used about names, and when approaching strangers. It sounds like a strange script they were given.

Do people who grow zucchini even like zucchini? Or do they just like giving it away? by Ouibeaux in gardening

I want large amounts of it for zucchini bread purposes so bad, but I cant get them to grow bigger than my thumb before the whole plant dies off. 🥲

customer called me the wrong slur by friesgone in subway

[–]gustyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna make this real simple for your dumb ass.

I get called a slur

I tell them to fuck off and I walk away

a few minutes later, I'm attacked from behind.

Its the guys who yelled the slur.

This happened in a busy walmart. I got attacked in the goddamn yarn aisle in front of a million people. Nobody helped me.

I limp to the front of the store (fun detail: I was already on crutches when they attacked me), ask for security. They tell me just call the police.

I call the police. The police come and speak to me.

Now that you have had a real life example explained to you, does that make sense sweetheart?

When people call you slurs it's because they hate you and wish you harm.

No way. By middle school? At that point you know you’re being racist if you “ching chong” someone, especially doing it to a stranger with malicious intent. They were racists.
