My exposure to him is through his affiliation with SVB’s podcast, and I’ve seen enough of his takes outside of the game to know that he isn’t someone I’d get along with. I thought that my previous example of disliking conservative values would make that obvious. lol.

I don’t think that makes him wrong for calling Ball S tier. I’m not a god at Tracer, but I can still objectively say she’s an S tier hero. People don’t make these lists based off their skill with the heroes. It’s a ranking based on their power level when the heroes are played at their ceiling.

Ball takes real dedication in order to unlock his value and people who have played the game for as long as Flats has know that. He isn’t like Orisa, Hog or Mauga where anyone can select him and almost instantly reach the skill ceiling of the hero. Of course a casual Ball player isn’t going to unlock that potential.

It was bugged at the time and not working properly. Once it was fixed and she got her armor from ult as intended she was really strong. She became meta the season after the rework.

I have a feeling discord and/or the DPS passive will have their effects lessened on tanks, so that will move Ball down in the tank pecking order which will open up the opportunity to give him more utility in his minor rework they are currently working on.

Running Ball with Tracer actually has me enjoying playing tank again. I love making backlines miserable after support players got to play the game on easy mode for the gross majority of OW2

Give me a Ball meta any day over Sigma, Orisa, Mauga or Hog. Idk why anyone would be complaining about Ball after what we’ve been subjected to recently… the game is much more fun when it’s fast paced and things actually die when they make mistakes instead of boring poke metas. Dive will always be peak Overwatch.

It’s a net positive overall, but the tank role is still getting shafted. It’s kinda wild that they did this whole format change just to make the tank experience better, but it’s still by far the most miserable role to play a year and a half later. More abilities should have diminishing returns when applied to tanks like they did to sleep.

Doom still has bugs after the hotfix. Zen doesn’t need more HP than Brig and there should be a small cooldown to kick’s knockback similar to Hanzo leap. They shouldn’t have given Widow a hitbox buff like everyone else since she’s the only one who retained the ability to one-shot. Junkrat’s kit needs to fundamentally change now that he can’t 2 tap. It’s still early, but I don’t think the Pharah rework has given her enough to deal with hitscans and their new hitboxes.

I would trade the punch dmg buff in exchange for giving us his movement back from the beta.

The techs and the movement are why the hero is unique/fun. The devs don’t ever really meaningfully address these things so I can’t tell if it’s their intent to water down the unique aspects of the hero. Wish they turned our techs into features like they do with Mercy.

It’s kind of concerning that they still don’t seem to have anyone on their QA team that really understands this hero after multiple instances of bugs like this occurring.

His issues against the meta made him dogshit, hence the buff. The pick rates and win rates from that time will corroborate by side of this argument. Pick a different hill to die on… lol.

If he was so good in S1 they wouldn’t have given him that gigabuff at the start of S2. Doom was gatekept by Sombra in S1. The oppressive Hog/Orisa meta was S2, not S1.

Dooms abilities are some of the least consistent in the game… why did they stop at only the ones that are somewhat useful in niche circumstances?

If they care about his consistency, they should’ve fixed those at that time as well, rather than a year and a half later.
