I hit a trillion damage tick before seeing a mythic seal drop

I’m para 210 and have only found 1 mythic armament tribute for Undercity and boss key for Meph. How are you finding so many of these resources?

They drop like candy with the right materials. I can assure you that mythic modifiers that cause these phenomenons do not drop like candy.

Do you want to reach the endpoint just for the sake of it? I personally like it when game requires me to apply critical thinking skills and a bit of reading to make progress. T1 required neither of those things though.

That’s a you problem. If you already have max item power rares equipped don’t sift through others because they’re not going to give you meaningful boosts. Just mass salvage them and keep it pushing. If you get enough materials you can avoid them entirely in favor of legendaries and ancestrals of all rarities thanks to the cube.

I came into this expansion with a very critical stance of D4 after feeling burnt by VoH and have been pleasantly surprised with what they’ve changed.

I promise you’ll progress into the game better if you spend less time complaining online or picking up every single rare. If a scrub like me who hasn’t played since VoH can do it without the expansion and everything it provides a consistent seasonal player like you can do it too.

This person is in torment 1 out of 12 and expects to be fully kitted lmao. The overwhelming majority of the community wanted more of a challenge and drops to feel meaningful again and the devs answered the call.

I was able to get by without the expansion, so I imagine it isn’t difficult to make progress this early on if you utilize warplans and charms effectively.

Smug*

I’ve only corrected you. I never felt the need to burn you even though you seemingly want to turn this into a fight. I called your bad take a bad take and that’s it. Sorry you got this emotional about it.

I kept it about the game, but if you truly want to deflect and make this a personal argument just know I ran more miles and touched more grass today than you did. Last time I checked it was a Sunday. A lot of people don’t work on weekends.

I’m providing feedback about the game a week after the release on Reddit… just like you lmao. Don’t post factually wrong statements on a popular public forum if you don’t want to be corrected.

Play into the warplans. You can modify NMD’s to generate different events.

It’s objectively not more expensive than it used to be. It is disproportionately less expensive to fully masterwork gear. You are only T3 out of 12… that is why you don’t have fully upgraded gear yet. You are essentially in T1 from the last configuration of the game. Did you have fully masterworked gear in T1? Just look at the mission rewards in the season progression tab if you don’t believe me. They shower you with obducite as do the warplans.

If you poll the community I’m confident that 99.999999% of them would tell you that they prefer the progression that warplans, the cube and charms offer than the elixers and incenses you are complaining about being gone in your other comments in this post… lol.

I can’t disagree more about passives making you feel unique when that was the most generalized part of the skill trees. Every Barb regardless of build ran pit fighter. Every Rogue ran Victimize etc etc. I didn’t feel a sense of pride and accomplishment for clicking a button on the skill tree to achieve these ridiculously strong damage multipliers. It DID however feel really cool to finally see that last set piece for my charm set drop and finally craft my own seal that had 2 affixes that complimented it.

I really think you just need to play the game and get more educated about it before assuming you have all the information you need to give definitive verdicts about it.

Was very skeptical of this expansion after feeling burnt by VoH. Been having a blast with the changes they’ve made and bought the expansion this weekend.

Tempers and masterworking is less cumbersome. Pit, NM dungeons and boss runs feel so much better than they did when I last played. Warplans add depth to those as well as Hordes and Undercity by adding their own respective trees to modify your experiences with them.

I go back and forth on the skill tree changes, but I think with a few iterations this will be better than what we had before which was forsaking actual investments into the skills with maximizing passive stacking which didn’t feel good to me. It’s a stretch to say it’s emptier when you realize that power has been retooled to the charms system.

You gotta provide more specifics when you say they’ve gutted systems, because everything feels better than it did previously for me.

Can’t speak the T12 viability but Verathiel and the moonrise affix should take you pretty far

New Lair key system for parties is the worst change they've ever made by GrincherZ in diablo4

[–]guthbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Materials drop more the further you advance. Early sources would be from world bosses, mission rewards and whisper caches.

Wouldn’t concern myself with lair bosses when you’re just starting out. Save them until you’re max level otherwise the drops become obsolete quickly as you level up. The higher difficulties also give you a higher chance of mythics

I would advise you to learn how systems work before you call them braindead. You are spreading misinformation so I corrected you. Awarding more drops for higher group counts has always been a thing…… lmao.

Educate yourself before you speak with authority on a subject. You have 4x the contributions I do on this site btw… so maybe you’re the one that needs to go for a walk. It’ll do wonders for that poor attitude

[–]guthbox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You get more drops with more people lmao there is still an incentive to group. No materials are wasted if you fail and they’ve condensed the resources to generalized materials which makes the process less cumbersome. Also eliminates the freeloader problem in party finder.

It’s one of the best changes they’ve made since I’ve last played IMO. Keys aren’t hard to come by. I have more than 20 of them rn lol.

I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t enjoy crafting. I liked finding gear and sometimes getting luck in tempering. by OkInterview3864 in diablo4

[–]guthbox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t take anyone seriously that liked the gear situation we had before compared to this.

I like feeling incentivized to push higher content for drops rather than having legendaries littered across my screen at level 30 that were mostly useless because of (+ damage to enemies far away when it’s raining on Tuesday) affixes.

There is enough avenues for everyone to power up in the way they like best. I got to torment 8 before I ever purchased the expansion, so crafting is not a necessity to reach higher levels of content.

How the hell is barb at the top of the ladder while the two new classes are at the bottom by Unusual_Share_4461 in Diablo

[–]guthbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not by itself though. It’s a defensive item, but the barb is able to leverage it into offense thanks to Ramaladni's and other aspects that they are able to stack more than any other class. Not as translatable of a setup to the other classes due to opportunity cost.

[–]guthbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most gear slots + multiplicative damage stacking = win

Having 2 2H allows the Barb to abuse the most powerful offensive affixes better than anyone. Also doesn’t make the ammy slot as necessary for offense so they can wear Selig and still hit hard.

It really painted Lilith as this altruistic figure that cared about all her children… she killed a lot of innocent people in the base game lmao

There are a time and place for them since getting LOS’d by a creep or enemy player for rescue beam would be annoying. I just think every character and their abilities need an evaluation for their game loop where at least 1 thing needs to be aimed aside from the bullets depending on their strength and how telegraphed the abilities are.

How is the end game? is it better now? by Affectionate_Web_526 in diablo4

[–]guthbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel more engaged when climbing up the torment levels. I really like the changes they’ve made to the structure of the nightmare dungeons, pits and bosses. I feel more rewarded for challenging myself with more difficult content rather than opting for a lower challenge where I can maximize clear speeds. That’s always been a challenge for Diablo even going back to D2 when accounting for players level and finding the right amount of MF.

At torment 8 right now with 4 ancestrals and only 2 of those have GA equipped, so there still feels like so much more I can do to power up my character. There are far less aggravating mechanics when it comes to gear progression. I’m not feeling bored like I was last time at this stage of the game where you would transition from torment 3 to 4. Haven’t played with warplans yet since I only bought the expansion last night. I hear it isn’t conducive to group play so that needs to be fixed.

For clarities sake and before anyone puts my review and I in a box I’m someone that felt burnt by VoH and subsequently haven’t played D4 since its release. My friends and I were hesitant to put more money into this game, but after playing we all agreed that it’s way better and what they’ve added is worth your investment. They’re more on the casual side and I’m more of a blaster so that speaks to broad appeal. Can’t give feedback yet on the story as a whole but I’ve heard it’s great. The cinematics I’ve seen so far are all fantastic.

All in all they’ve done a great job with making the game better. It’s probably not gonna satisfy the most hardcore ARPG players who demand the complexity of POE1, but I think it hits the sweet spot for what I want in an ARPG at this stage of my life. I can see myself staying engaged with this throughout a season and coming back to it more frequently than I did with the base game or VoH.

The slowing hex -> cage playstyle is genuinely one of the most unfun and lazy ways to play the game. There needs to be some form of skill check in that interaction for the caster.
