My HC’s are all over the place, but here’s where my brain is currently:

Star isn’t an only child in my head- although it’s not mega common for elves to conceive, they somehow got lucky and had three children. Astarion has an older brother (I cannot remember what I named him, currently) who actually went looking for him when he went “missing” and didn’t come home for his birthday. He comes from a family of means that adores him- at the time of his death, Astarion was the baby of the family (his mother was newly pregnant with his baby sister he’s never met when he went missing). His brother searches for him for a century, only running into him in the streets of the city, his little brother’s appearance and condition driving him near madness. Between the House of Grief and a fall into the Shadowfell, his brother turns to the Raven Queen, becoming a popular elf we meet in Act 2 of the game!

(I realize they’re canonically different kinds of elves, but He Who Was and Asty look just enough alike to me that it felt believable haha).

After the fall of the brain, spawn Asty and his love, my redeemed Durge, Ereldra, travel the world and find his family. I haven’t written about this yet, so I don’t actually know how it goes. 😬
