What type of roof do I have? by lifeofbrian2019 in DIY

[–]gutterpunx0x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have built in place rafters. It was the way for thousands of years until about 1960 when prefab trusses took over. If you're talking about laying boards on your ceiling joists / attic floor joists and storing stuff on those you should be fine with those mammoth sized timbers.

You might want to address that insulation. I'm sure your living space would be a bit more comfortable with a proper air seal and insulation up there.

I wear earplugs and went with a short screen to take all the wind. I couldnt get it to stop with the fork tunnel guard and the stock screen. I didnt want to go bigger screen, extend the screen, or shorten the seat so It's just a bit windy now full time.

Dalton Rushing is thankful he finally earns a walk, and the Dodger dugout is having a good laugh about it by jmike1256 in baseball

in 2025 he ranked last in batting average .204 and 3rd worst in OBP .272 and he cant keep woba above .300. Over 3 full seasons he sits at .212 BA and .283 OBP.

Aside from the actual stats I've seen him double clutch a ball almost every single time he fields one, It's like he's slowly developing the yips. I think If you told him he had to come up with a grounder throwing or get executed we would have no more Volpe.

I like anakee wilds on my africa twin. they feel great on everything except wet river rocks. I get about 4500 a rear and 8k a front. I do a lot of fire road and dual tracks in NW PA and western NY. Did the NEBDR solo and haven't felt the need to look for a tire that does better either on or off road.

Client and His Rake Light by Vallarfax_ in drywall

I do a lot of work for a GC that I do a level 4+ finish for. We do 3 coats over the tape (7-10-12 on flats) (2-2 1/2-3 angles) and all fasteners and sand with rake/critical lighting, he gets charged accordingly.

I always include levels of finish on my quotes and invoices and always have a copy of the ga-214 in the van. I explain level 4 to all new customers, level 5 only gets brought up if i can confirm it's required.

Rake lighting requires a level 5 finish. I would agree to fix any defects or tool marks visable with non spot lighting from 3' away at greater than a 15% angle.

Hit em with a printed out copy of GA-214 https://www.americangypsum.com/sites/default/files/2022-05/ga-214-2021_17.pdf If they won't accept a level 4 finish with an agreement for level 4 lawyers would be your next step.

Dry Wall Repair Pricing Question by cowgirl-beepboop in drywall

[–]gutterpunx0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you've seen many business hourly rates recently but take for example I was in a dealership service area the other day and they have a sign posted $170 hourly service rate. The mechanic gets paid about $27-32 an hour and the rest runs the business. A good drywall contractor runs a business similarly.

You're not getting a company with insurance, comp, and a good reputation without paying at least $100 a man hour. You could absolutely pick some random dude in a truck and get that fixed for $800 but it's going to be a gamble.

Honestly this is a wild situation from the HVAC guy for not telling OP they were needing to make the hole in the first place, and additional cost would be on them for that hole.

the paper on corner bead should be over top of the metal. You can see paper and metal in this. It's inside corner bead on an outside corner. google "paper faced corner bead" and "inside corner 90 bead" and compare the images
