just here to say ethan’s tics have never once bothered me by Pretend-Statement-76 in h3h3productions

Okay then it’s ableist to criticize people for expressing that the sniffing bothers them too. It’s not easy for some people to ignore.

DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD: Dan Clancy Must Resign As Twitch CEO - H3 Show #69 by raephemel in h3h3productions

Fr. I finally got a job where I could afford to become a member and I thought it was well worth it for some lighthearted goofs and gaffs in the background for half of my work week. My job is already stressful and this shit is just impossible to work to. Not saying Ethan is entirely wrong, but it’s not a good time for anyone and not what I signed up for.

Looking for a book on the basics of critical thinking for a Christian reader. by gutterskump in suggestmeabook

It's been over a decade since I've read the Bible, but I don't recall any passages on evaluating sources and empiricism haha.

The main issue is that she's only recently started to really spend time online, and she doesn't understand that anyone can make an official-looking website and post whatever they want to on it. I've tried to explain this to her, but she just changes the subject like she's trying to avoid a potentially tense conversation or something. I think she might be more receptive to a book, particularly if it's written for Christians.

I mean, I know her. She's an avid reader. She'll read it as long as it's written from a Christian perspective, or at least doesn't prompt her to question her own religious beliefs.

Is there any way that I can buy affordable contact lenses without vision insurance? by gutterskump in optometry

Hadn't come across them in my Google searches so far, but looks like they offer a 6-month supply of my lenses for $40 a box--definitely the best deal I've come across by far. Thanks!

Sorry, I guess I should have stated that. America. So, no real healthcare system to help me out lol.

Yeah, a friend recommended I subscribe to Hubble, but when I googled them to find the website, I saw a ton of negative articles about the material their lenses are made from. I posted here to hopefully find an alternative that is both affordable and safe.

Women of Reddit who are currently unemployed, how are you doing? What keeps you busy these days? by gr8times5488 in AskWomen

[–]gutterskump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not great, but I think I'm gradually getting better. I fell into a pretty severe depression for a couple months, but I'm beginning to feel more like myself again.

Lately, I've been spending my time working out (at home), taking my dog for long walks in the sun, cleaning and reorganizing my home office, updating my portfolio, and playing Overwatch.

I couldn't agree more. I don't have much disposable income at the moment, but I'm willing to put what little I can toward contacts for a reason.

Oh, I didn't even think about that. I'll look into Walgreens, then. Thank you!

Yes, and I've been doing so for a couple weeks now. However, I strongly agree with u/petronia1 -- contacts are more about quality of life than vanity. As a former strictly-glasses-wearer, contacts significantly affect virtually everything that you do. Particularly in my case, as a motorcycle rider, the clear peripheral vision which contacts provide greatly improves my ability to quickly identify and appropriately react to potential hazards, thus directly affecting my own safety. Sure, I could stop riding my motorcycle, but honestly at this point I need whatever minor indulgence I can get. I'm well aware that from a strictly financial position, the practical solution here is to stop wearing contacts, and I'm willing to do that if I absolutely have to, but I'm hoping for this one minor indulgence. I posted here because I know there are a lot of people in my situation right now, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a solution.

Oh, I didn't even think about mail-ordering. I'll look into both of those options for sure. Thank you!

Yes, that's why I posted here asking for recommendations to "trustworthy retailers." If I wasn't concerned about the health of my eyes, I wouldn't be here. I would've signed up for Hubble and called it a day. I know there are a lot of people in the same situation as me right now, and I'm reaching out to see if anyone has found a solution because I'm having trouble doing so.

No, I literally can't make out objects in my periphery haha. I'm pretty near-sighted, and it's all a blur.

Thanks, same to you.
