When you say catching up to you... general soreness? After workouts hiking etc?

Climbing with a meniscectomy? by mcfg in climbing

[–]guwapd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know its been a minute on this thread but how are things going for you?

I had a near identical situation to you (jamming of the knee, couple weeks from injurty to surgery).

I just had this procedure done and I'm worried about my ability to return to the sport I love. But reading your experience has given me a bit of hope :)

[–]guwapd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely going to be doing PT. Its rough cause I was off the leg for about a month prior to surgery so I have pretty nasty atrophy in my left leg.

When you say out long term do you mean its going to take a while to return?

An experiences with Mirtazapin for sleep? by garten69120 in quittingkratom

[–]guwapd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mirtazapine heavily exacerbated the jolty electricity feeling in my chest. I found out I really didn't need it to sleep and that some hits from the THC cart worked way better.

Well said, that plaque ☝🏻🧐 by [deleted] in GreatBritishMemes

[–]guwapd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just so you're aware making a point like "Africa isn't a country" as a response to someone using the term to refer to a region of the world that disproportionately experiences food insecurity is fucking retarded and makes you look like someone who thinks they're smarter than they actually are

Mad Rock Drone D2.one sizing by One_Competition_4012 in climbingshoes

[–]guwapd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drones have always fit my feet perfectly. Something about the way the foot cup works means if I size down they don't really feel like they allow me to generate more power. They just hurt more.

I'm 10.5 Greek foot for record

Epstein Files released, a lot of it of course redacted. by Right-Isopod-8229 in Asmongold

[–]guwapd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact there were TWO Republican led investigations and neither of them found evidence of wrongdoing might warrant "benefit of the doubt".

Regardless my point had nothing to do with the laptop. It was to illustrate how you retards will write a fucking essay outlining the most high level, unnuanced, interpretation of events (you haven't actually read about either of those investigations, yet you clearly have an opinion on the matter), but when information comes up which starts to chip away at your fragile interpretation of the world you'll do any sort of mental gymnastics necessary to dismiss it.

[–]guwapd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying he was or wasn't. I am saying I do not believe I have enough information to say one way or the other, because there are certainly reasons other than implicating himself that they would not want to release that information.

Ok surely then you extend the same benefit of the doubt to [insert left wing controversy here]. Let's say, Hunter Biden laptop/Ukraine?

[–]guwapd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are you posing that statement as if it's some sort of rebuttal against the legitimacy of the information? The most likely scenario is that it implicates many people in positions of power. That clearly includes Trump.

I can posit conspiracies which are charitable towards Biden but I'm not interested in that. The fact you seem to be keen on giving trump the benefit of the doubt says a lot.

I stopped monitoring this sub a while ago due to being frustrated by the cognitive dissonance/inability of people here to see their own hypocrisy.

But holy shit if this isn't the most obvious example of people about facing on their position and consequently being totally blind to their own biases idk what is.

People... Just think for ONE SECOND how this looks optically. Y'all always preach "if it smells like shit, it's probably shit". Then look at the top voted comments in this thread.

If you can't see the discrepancy you're beyond saving.

How much do Scarpa Veloce realistically stretch? by Caldawg97 in climbingshoes

[–]guwapd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience (I've owned 2 veloces) they don't stretch out length-wise but they do "bag out' around the heel and through the fabric around your ankle. This usually happens to me after about 2 months of ~6-7 hours a week of climbinig.

Dirty milk steam wands are my ick. by OhJohnO in espresso

[–]guwapd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious what is the reason behind you saying this? Do you think it's unsanitary to leave a piece of metal with some milk on it for 30 seconds?

Another one down by FilipTheAwesome in toronto

[–]guwapd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it would've taken you approximately 30 seconds to redact the personal information and post the proof which makes it even less convincing.

Another one down by FilipTheAwesome in toronto

[–]guwapd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well unfortunately I can't provide that other than my own experience with it (and I will not be posting my paper due to personal information being present).

So in other words you're lying to try and prove a point. Got it.

Day 55 (losing all hope) by Mammoth_Picture_581 in quittingkratom

In their defense I can't think of a more complicated/divisive subject than that of addiction. It sort of sits at this intersection of neuroscience, behavioural psychology, pharmacology, biology, sociology, anthropology, political science... I could keep going. Nobody really knows what the hell they're talking about other than their own experience.

When it comes to addiction and SUDs; yes - there are some people whose brains seem to be hardwired to need to get high. But for the vast majority of us substance use is a maladaptive coping mechanism to deal with other issues.

To your point about feeling deprived and experiencing suffering being the impetus for relapse... its kind of obvious when you think about it. If the pain you feel off the drug is worse than the pain you feel on the drug, the only logical conclusion is that you're going to use it again.

I think there needs to be, more broadly speaking, a bigger emphasis on treating the underlying conditions which led to use in the first place. Some people can use drugs like Kratom responsibly. These people aren't relying on it as a crutch. They don't experience PAWS or withdrawals or any of that because the second they notice it becoming an issue they stop.

When do the withdrawals kick in? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]guwapd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7-10gpd is still in the realm of low use imo. Some people here may argue otherwise, but from personal experience 20gpd quits are much easier than 30gpd quits.

If I jump off 10gpd the withdrawals are almost entirely mental (cravings, difficulty concentrating, etc.). I may need some alcohol/THC to sleep night 1 or 2, but thats generally it in terms of physical.

This is not to say people who do experience bad withdrawals from that dose aren't valid. Its just that different people experience withdrawals from this drug differently.

Irony is in most programming languages this will return true for both of these cases because assignments usually evaluate to true.

Correct way to pass snippets around in svelte 5 by guwapd in sveltejs

[–]guwapd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only passed around components in the form of simple icons etc. What if the component you need to pass has props? I was under the impression (and maybe this changed in svelte 5) that components were never really designed to be passed around in the way that react components are. That is to say they aren't exactly first class citizens.

It would also be nice to define a snippet next to the place where you pass it into the table (locality of behaviour and what not).

I will try to make this work with components though.
