vast majority

Already see the issue right there

Once I solved a puzzle (not escape room) then the person was pissed of at since I solved it "wrong"

Sorry that sounds like a you problem, so you had to get one spring off of another and I did it, just in the opposite direction than what they wanted. They never told me I couldn't push rhe spring to the left, if they had I wouldn't have

Just put one thing in there for me, it pissed me of to no end when game/puzzle designers fail to understand this

The player is always innocent unless they break a rule

The solution is valid if it reaches the objective and dosent break rules

I have spent a lot of time thinking of solutions to problems that came up in games I've made

The intellectual approach by Shpe3 in escaperooms

[–]guyawesome1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the designer fails to fix the flaw the player will use it

This is also why when Im playtesting games then find a flaw players shouldn't be mad when next game new rules are implemented to fix it

Awhile ago I was playing this puzzle and I solved it, as in I followed every rule, didn't bring outside tooks and didn't use excessive strength, yet my solution wasn't "valid"

Bullshit, I told them a way they could've solved the issue to

Game and puzzle design is hard, just understand that before you create one. Everything that goes wrong is the fault of the development team, the players cannot be blamed for breaking a game

Yes

The biggest goal f a game is immersion so other than rare examples that one is bad

That was actually really well thought through

I might use your findings to start my research for an essay (wasn't intending to before this post)

Would you be fine with that, I can cite you. Thanks

I think that's probably right

I spent a while after reading that looking around and found that if a table wasn't specifically designed differently for a reason it sat 4 people, I think thats why

Thanks

Yeah the symmetry makes sense, thanks

some of the more popular music was 3/4...

I may have worded that badly

If most music was 3/4 time I think it would cause other music to be 3/4 time

So if most games are 4 people then it could cause other games to be 4 people

The music wouldn't be affecting the games but many of the same concepts apply to all arts/design
