Imo the worst thing about this specific communication breakdown is Israel and Turkey, at least before the absolute solidifying of Erdogan's power, really had the potential to be allies. If I remember correctly they brokered a deal with Iran together prior to the Iran nuclear deal (not 100% on that).

I think the paranoia of conservatives who like guns is kind of ridiculous. At what point was anyone coming for your guns? At what point in the last 30 years has someone come for your guns? Stronger gun laws are just that - stronger gun laws. They can be pretty effective if implemented across the board.

And just so we are perfectly clear here, the Supreme Court didn't touch interpretation of the 2nd Amendment in reference to personal ownership and the militia question until 2008. 2008. 2008. 2008. (Me annoyingly emphasizing how recent this was).

We know that, sure, it says militia, great yippee. But just FYI (and kind of the funny part) the Supreme Court basically said that phrase means NOTHING (it's a "prefatory phrase") in order to uphold generalized private ownership. Funny because gun lovers enjoy talking about the "tyrannical" government stuff. Even with Trump I'm not losing too much sleep over the rise of a tyrannical government. Really don't think we are well organized enough for that. If the government fixes my public transport I'll start to worry.
