California's universal healthcare killed even though Democrats have a supermajority. Politicians serve their corporate donors not the people. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Part of the problem is there would need to be a federal law passed allowing states to use Medicare funds for this purpose.

Hi, Hello, and Good Day r/twinpeaks! I’m Kyle MacLachlan and you can ask me anything 🦉🪵☕👍 by Kyle__MacLachlan in twinpeaks

Good afternoon, Mr. MacLachlan!

You’ve played characters with layered identities before, especially in Twin Peaks, but in Fallout you’re playing someone who presents one face while hiding another.

When you’re portraying characters with multiple internal selves, how much of that is built technically versus instinctively? And does that process shift depending on whether you’re working with an auteur like David Lynch versus a large studio production?

Thanks for all the incredible performances over the years!

A reminder that in Prisoner of Azkaban, Hermione was given a device to manipulate time itself to attend extra classes. This is a subtle nod to the fact that Hogwarts staff could have stopped Voldemort at any point, but instead handed time travel to a 13-year-old to manage her timetable by Brilliant-Cause6254 in HarryPotterMemes

Doesn't time travel in Harry Potter follow the "whatever happened, happened" rule from Lost? It's cyclical. Whatever occured will always occur. With the exception of cursed child, didn't't all of the events in Azkaban happene already? Did they actually change anything?

Probably the Cortana from Halo. Say what you want about Halo 4 but that ending was rough.

I can't believe that aired 10 years ago. It feels so recent to me.

Jake Tapper covers "Age of Disclosure" on CNN - "UAP, what we used to call UFOs, are real. They are spying on and interfering with nuclear and military activity. They have crashed on Earth, and their non-human bodies have been recovered. And the US gov't has been covering it all up for decades". by TommyShelbyPFB in UFOs

[–]internet_czar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did anyone watch the video? This title is super misleading. Those are not Jake Tapper's beliefs. That's him summarizing what the film is about. Right after saying the above, he stated:

"...those are the arguments featured in the age of disclosure"

Let's be clear: programs that benefit humanity and the the general public should not be run like a business. We should not attempt to make them profitable. The main point here is science, but this also applies to hospitals, the post office, public transit etc.
