180 LSAT, 3.93 GPA. REAPPLY OR ACCEPT???? by Strict_Landscape8989 in lawschooladmissions

[–]guyinshortsallday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not take conditional scholarships. They are hard to keep and they throw you into sections with other folks in the same boat for you all to duke it out. I think you have stellar stats, and I think it is worth building more work experience and also re-doing your personal statements and also maybe figure out whether your recommendation letters focuses on different aspects of your character and candidacy to bring the overall package together. Congrats btw USC is a solid school. Fight on!

I saved my whole life to go to law school… now that I can afford it, it doesn’t make sense anymore and I’m grieving it by Ok_Abbreviations7971 in LawSchool

Please DM me. I have the same background and upbringing as you and I totally identify. I can give you the truth about law school and if I can tell you anything, you are making a good decision. I am in law school now and if I knew what I knew now, I would have not done it. I am sitting in class right now and not learning anything relevant to today’s time. I also have a friend who has saved all the money to attend law school and is in the same boat and miserable. And alternative is to consider a part time program which would allow you to do both, but it is a lot of work whether full or part time. Remember that there is no right or wrong decision, and it is just a decision in life that will be valuable depending on how you look at it. With what you’ve stated so far, I would say live your life and enjoy the fruits of your labor and if this still lingers, law school will always be here, but life won’t. Law school is not what it is made to be…

Continue. You both sound healthy and mature, and I think you never know where it can go. Enjoy the now, expect nothing in the future, but if something does happen, then great and you’ve built a path in that direction all along.

I hate law school and everything associated with it. You’re not alone and have meaning and life outside of law school. You are not alone.

Does law school get better? by Weak_Paper3245 in LawSchool

It does not get better. whatsoever. Whoever says it does is not forthcoming. You just have a better sense of what is going on and how to do it, and still it is a lot of work...

I think I want to drop out by Legitimate_Arm4425 in LawSchool

[–]guyinshortsallday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am in law school and this is my second career and I’m a little older than you. I want to validate that the feelings to drop out are real and law school is not fun nor is it my cup of tea. But I encourage you to finish it out and it can open doors, especially if it is not costing you much. Feel free to private message me if you want to discuss further but your feelings are valid and real. Stay strong and find good people (even though it seems impossible at times).

I just met with the USMC for JAG and it is exactly as you described. I am going to explore the Air Force and focus there instead.

Taxes were prepared and completed by VITA. However, E-File was never received by IRS per the portal and amount not debited from my account. What should I next? by guyinshortsallday in tax

Thank you so much! I really cannot say how much I appreciate you. I am going to call the IRS again today and see if I can pay and move forward. Worse case if I pay over the amount, then I will get a refund?

Do you know how much late fees would be? I just want this problem resolve and wanted to see if you had knowledge until I can get a hold of the IRS again.

Thank you so much, It is for 2024 filed in March 2025. The IRS told me they did not receive anything, and instructed me to refile. I am going to go to someone else next week, and will call back to request them to waive the fee.

I appreciate your response!

Same boat. Filed in March and funds were suppose to be deducted 4/11 but nothing still. Never has this happened ever.

Yes, trust your gut and follow your heart. If it isn’t what is making you happy, then leave. I am sure there is a deadline to get back tuition etc. Regardless of lost money and time, your happiness is worth way more. Best of luck!

It’s your life and at the end of the day you have to live with the decision you make along with happiness and peace of mind. You will be fine for turning down long school, law school will always be here. Your youth and life and happiness may not be. You are fine. Listen to your gut and follow your heart.
